PET OWNERS, PLEASE NOTE!

If your dog or cat has a 'SAVE THIS LIFE' microchip, we have important news: The company has suddenly shut down and disconnected its database. This means that if your pet gets lost, their microchip won’t help reunite you, as it cannot be scanned for contact information.

Here is what you can do to ensure your pet's microchip is up to date:
- Check your pet’s records. Or visit your local veterinarian or Animal Friends to scan your pet's microchip.

- Take the microchip number from the scanner and look it up online at https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary-professionals/microchip-search/

- Looking up the chip online will allow you to make sure the chip is still active and that your contact information is up to date.

- If your pet has a 'Save This Life' chip, you will need to register with a new company. There are a few different companies that you can re-register your pet's microchip with and that's AKC Reunite, PetLink and 24PetWatch.

MSNAP Mondays Special:
Our female cat spots for this special are currently filled. We do still have male cat spots open! If you live in Monongalia county and have a male cat needing fixed you can get FREE neuter and rabies vaccinations every Monday in February. Please note that appointments made for MSNAP Mondays on other dates will be declined.

Scheduling:
We will be opening up more cat spay/neuter appointments tomorrow! If you are needing to schedule, check back then!

Spay/Neuter Specials:
We will be announcing another spay/neuter special tomorrow at noon! This special will be for cats only, and will be available for any West Virginia resident, so if you are interested in that make sure to check our page for that announcement tomorrow, as we anticipate appointments going quickly!

YOU DID IT! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! YOU RAISED $1316.63. PLUS WE GET TO ADD $750 FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF $2066.63 FOR THE CAT VET BILL. PLEASE CONTINUE TO DONATE IF YOU CAN. IT IS STILL FAR FROM BEING PAID OFF.

We have a wonderful opportunity to raise some money for our large vet bill for the cats. An anonymous donor is offering to donate up to $750 if we can raise the same amount. In other words, if we can get up to $750 worth of donations by the end of the day on Tuesday, then they will donate an additional $750 toward our vet bill. So if you can please donate what you can, we would greatly appreciate it. You can donate by Venmo -cats or Animal Friends Cats. You can donate through Paypal with the username . Looking for someone to meet a driver in Morgantown Tuesday or Wednesday. We have 2 cats that need to be in uniontown at petsmart. You would need to leave the shelter between 11-1130 and you would meet our driver at the BFS on cheat lake exit.

We have been chosen to feature our kittens in the kitten bowl again this year. We are looking for kittens in the Barbour County area that are 4 months and younger. They will be featured in the kitten bowl held on Super Bowl Sunday and will all be adopted out. They must be friendly! Please call Kim at 304-629-5996, or Shelly 304-591-2725. George is a stunning 1 year old Siamese and was surrendered when his owner went into an assisted living facility. He can be hissy until he learns to trust you, But Once you’ve earned his trust and he feels safe he is very sweet. George will need a calm home and someone who will be patient with him until he gets used to his new surroundings. His new owner must have Siamese experience.
