Bright and early Leli was creating today, these and everything else she makes this week will be at the Bellaire Farmers Market - Michigan on Friday! But what is it? Glad you asked.....KEY LIME MARSHMALLOWS!!!!! They are so tangy and delicious! Photos of some of the steps of the process are in the comments and as you can see it's very involved! So proud of Leli for tackling this!

As you all know we sadly lost most of our flock over the winter. Well Happy Mother's Day to me, Leli and I brought home 45 sixish week old littles yesterday! They were successfully introduced to the remaining Ladies overnight and everyone is mingling well this morning! That was the good news, now the maybe not quite so good but still good news is that they won't be laying until 14 weeks at the absolute earliest :x. But once they are, The Egg Shack will be loaded up again!
Also please excuse our coop floor this was JUST after opening the door this morning and it hasn't been scrapped yet :x

Unfortunately we had something get into our coop and purge all but 8 of our oldest Ladies. We have since plugged up the breach, reinforced any weak spots we could perceive and will be getting more 'Lil Ladies' when it gets a tad bit warmer, but sadly our egg production will be on hiatus until the littles start laying (usually about 18-22 weeks from their hatching). We will keep everyone updated on that front as well as Leli's Snack Shack, Farmers Market, and some other things we're working on!

Leli has been hard at work over these last few cold and snowy weeks getting new things ready for the Farmers Market! I will be at the Winter Farmers Market with her goodies starting in March, and then all of the summer. Sneak peak at some of the things she's made. The Red Velvet and Butter Pecan cookies are absolutely AMAZING!!! And all we can say is....S'more Cinnamon Rolls......Heavenly

There's still time to get your orders in! Cookies are sealed for maximum freshness! Ugly Sweater and Christmas Cookie kits. Each kit is $25 and comes with 12 cookies, 3 bags of buttercream frosting and 3 sprinkle cups. For each kit that is sold we will donate a half kit to the Bellaire Food Pantry! Preorders open until Tuesday December 19th and Pick up December 22 and 23 (if you need it sooner let me know and we will make arrangements for that!)

Alright we've got some options and a twist for our Christmas Cookie kits. We have 'traditional' which is traditional Christmas and Winter shapes and we have our "Ugly Sweater" kits which are self-explanatory! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who got Thanksgiving treats from us! Was a busy couple of days getting everything ready to go out today and tomorrow, and we appreciate you all more than words can adequately express. Our Christmas Cookie boxes, Elf cookies and a few more December surprises are available for preorders, and what isn't up yet will be by next week! Again, from the bottom of our hearts we are so thankful for all of you.

So...Leli and I sent in a thing and got back another thing in email and there are things all over.......😳 We're going to do a humble brag because a lot of people won't give small time bakers with no 'storefront' a chance. The things we can make just might surprise you though, give us a chance! Antrim County has a lot of home bakers who make amazing things!

Our Decorate your own Christmas Cookie Boxes are officially announced and our 'Paint Your Own' sets and individual cookies will have their announcement next week so stay tuned for those! I need 3 days notice for these guys, or you can pick up on December 23rd! Each box includes 12 cookies (3 each of 4 designs) 3 bags of buttercream icing (our colors are pastel because I HATE the tase of oversaturated icing and that's how those dark colors are made most of the time) and 3 cups of sprinkles for $25. Let us know!

Alright let me tell you all a story, Leli and I call it The Great Cookie Cutter Caper. Leli and I were talking and had an idea to do 'Thanksgiving To Go' cookie trays over three weeks ago. I jumped online to look for a cutter and a way to package these up and found a cutter and trays on Amazon on October 24th. Yeay everything will be here in a few days right? WRONG!!!!!! While the tray were delivered in two days (and the cutter SHOULD have been) it took from October 24th to November 4th to get this silly cutter because of shipping delays and it backtracking twice (I guess it wanted to enjoy the scenery between here and a hub in Ohio 🤣)! This of course meant a delay in when we could announce preorders for our 'Thanksgiving To Go' from October 30th until this morning. But without further Ado we are so glad to (finally) announce that we are taking preorders! Orders close Friday November 17th and pick up can be done Wednesday November 22nd (or let me know if you need something different and I will try to accommodate!) Please message our page (and make sure you get a confirmation reply because Facebook doesn't always like to show me I have messages!) The cost is $15 and here is what is included:
4 drumstick cookies
Buttercream icing 'Mashed Potatoes'
Carmel sauce 'Gravy' on the side

We're still waiting on a cookie cutter that I ordered October 21st to show up before we can announce our Thanksgiving cookies but it's going to be great once it get here! Stay tuned for a decorate your own cookie meal for Thanksgiving like mentioned before and another update on our Christmas ones also as soon as everything is in!! In the meantime, we'll let you enjoy some our blunders and test cookies lol. Not everything always comes out as perfect as that red underlined portion but that's why we have practice cookies!!

This week is experiment with flavors week!! As mentioned before we will be offering 12 or 24 days of Christmas Cookies which will be decorated cookies. A lot of the designs will be Paint Your Own and done on these GIANT cookies. This week as noted we are working on flavors and will be choosing our favorites out of Classic Sugar with Chocolate and Vanilla icing, Pumpkin Pie Toffee with Maple icing, Buttermint with Chocolate icing, Chocolate Chip with caramel icing, Peanut Butter with Butter Rum, and Gingerbread with Maple royal icing to offer!! We also have a surprise for Thanksgiving in the works that will be reveled (hopefully as I'm still waiting on one thing to be able to get it done!) on Wednesday!

Leli was hard at work yesterday making her Pumpkin chocolate chip bread, she added' cocoa to her Zucchini bread, and made Brownies and what we call Key Lime Angel cakes! We have 'regular' bread rising to be baked later and The Snack Shack will be OPEN tomorrow!!!!
