Garden peas are the best. Admittedly they are not growing as fruitful as I had hoped, but still enjoying the first harvest. I was thinking about it being a shame to compost the pods, so I decided to look up recipes with the pea pods. I found one and tried it. Pea pod soup! It was passable. Not super delicious, I am not sure what I would add, or not add to improve it. I like trying to use things more than one way.

Lil garden progress. This year I’m struggling with earwigs. I have not gotten everything planted I wanted to yet. But that’s okay. It’s a process. Next year will be even better!

I have been in the garden working to get it ready. Making progress but it’s been slow. Still have some live plants to plant. Added some blueberry plants, grapes, purple asparagus and Sunchokes for perennial plants this season. I’m planting more flowers in the beds to attract pollinators and beauty. I especially hope the borage grows well so I can harvest the seeds.

Strawberry Rhubarb pie. I have never made a lattice crust before. It won’t be winning any first place ribbons but for my first attempt I did a decent job (imo).

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today is the perfect day to detox your home with a refreshing cedar boil. 😉

To start, you'll need six cups of water and 6-8 sprigs of cedar. Simply bring them to a boil and let it simmer on medium heat.

Remember to keep an eye on it and add more water if needed, especially if you're boiling it for a few hours. It's important to use an old pot for this process, as the cedar can make it sticky and stain it. Consider designating it as your special "Cedar Boiling Pot".

Not only will this method remove toxins from your home, but it will also leave a delightful scent in the air. 🤗

Wishing you a fantastic day!

Enjoy!
