Here are a few recent shoulder mounts. As hunting season gets closer we want to update everyone on our ‘24-‘25 season shoulder mount price. Due to a large increase in our shop overhead and other increases we will be at $1000 plus tax with $500 as a deposit. As always, quality, realistic mounts and attention to detail will be our priorities. Thank you to our loyal customers and good luck this season!

As out-of-state hunting seasons begin to open, we wanted to remind you that any deer species (Whitetail, Mule Deer, Elk, Moose) from ouside of Ohio can be brought to us directly. As long as you bring the deer to us within 24 hours of entering the State you may bring the head with cape attached. Please remember to keep things cold and be careful with your skinning! Good luck to those of you traveling to get an early start to the season!

A nice batch of Euros ready. The last 3 from last season went in the beetles earlier this week. The rest are in the degreasing and whitening stage. Superior skulls take time to do properly and we appreciate our customers who recognize this and are also willing pay a little extra for a better end product!

I had a great weekend at the Ohio Taxidermy Association show. I was finally able to put a personal piece together which I haven’t had time to do in a few years. Thanks to the judges Kurt Ainsworth and Jeremy Simon for a 1st place ribbon on my habitat and a 2nd place ribbon on my deer. I learned a lot from their critiques and how to improve on the next one!

Getting through the antler mounts from last season. A nice clean and professional way to display your antlers if you don’t have wall space or walk up to your buck and experience “ground shrinkage” 😂

Well that’s a wrap on 22-23 season deer mounts. Nice batch of Kentucky and Southern Ohio bucks going home to a great group of friends! Some bird projects ahead and then we will begin mounting this season’s deer!

We preserved about everything from our customer’s Bison! Shoulder mount using the original horns. Cleaned the skull using our dermestid beetle colony. Degreased and whitened the skull and added reproduction horns. We also had the back 1/2 of the hide tanned and made custom legs out of our own mold!

Managed to finish this one up today! We have been very busy skinning and we will be taking some much needed time off Thursday and Friday. If you have a deer you need to drop off, please get it in early tomorrow or have a plan to freeze it until Monday. Happy Thanksgiving to all of our customers!

TGIF!

We added new beetles to the colony from Talia’s Beetle Bugs to boost our genetic diversity. They seem to be pretty happy bugs ready to mow down some skulls!

The shop will be closed until Monday for much needed family time! Everyone have a Merry Christmas and thanks for helping this business succed this year. We have many things to be thankful for including our customers!

Thought I would share my recent hunt with my customers and friends!

The walls are full! We have about 20 or so to go and some birds from last season. Now that we have a few more trained hands in the shop we plan on cranking out some very high quality taxidermy work with even shorter turn around times this season! We really appreciate all of our customers and your patience as we experienced some big growth this past season especially with birds and deer.

Good finish to a busy week of putting deer up to dry! Switching to birds for a couple weeks starting next week. We are working hard to produce quality mounts with a fair turnaround time.

We finished a lot of work today! If you are at the Sugar Maple Festival tomorrow stop by and say hi. We should be around most of the afternoon!
