Trainer Eric Priest is a graduate of The University of Findlay holding a bachelor’s degree in Equine Business Management and Western Equestrian Studies. Originally from Grover Hill, Ohio, Eric has travelled across the country to learn from a multitude of NRHA professionals and develop his own reining program. Eric began his focus on reining when he worked as a college intern for Matt Flarida, one of the best in the industry. It was during this internship that Eric established a passion for the sport of reining. Upon graduation, Eric moved down to Texas and began starting and training c**ts up to three-year-olds for “Three Million Dollar Rider” Tim McQuay. With a desire to spend more time in the show pen, Eric later began working for renowned showman and non-pro coach Dutch Chapman in Maryland. During Eric’s first year showing he earned the title “NRHA Rookie Professional Reserve World Champion” upon Who Whiz McMurtry (owned by Holly Bray). In addition to holding top rankings in the world, Eric was awarded “Northeast Affiliate Champion” and “EPRHA End Year High Point Earner.” Eric was not only concentrated on his own show record as he helped coach non-pros to Affiliate Championships and multiple year end High Points and awards. Eric truly enjoys helping non-pros become stronger reiners and happily accepts any opportunity to work with anyone wanting to learn more about the world of riding, no matter degree of experience. His passion for horses is only strengthened by his love for people as evident in his training program for green to accomplished horses and riders.
