We are an AAHA accredited veterinary hospital that is dedicated to providing the best healthcare for your pets on a walk-in basis since 1961. At Bluffs Animal Hospital, we know that it is not always convenient to schedule and keep appointments concerning your pets medical care. In addition, illnesses and accidents are unpredictable and occur at inconvenient times. It is for these reasons that sinc

e we opened our doors in 1961, we have enjoyed being a walk-in hospital. Our clients are encouraged to walk in when it is convenient or when their pets need us. Veterinarians are on duty at 8:00 am and are happy to see you and your pets until closing time at 5:30 pm on the weekdays and 12:00pm on Saturdays. Established clientele may also drop off their pets during the day and our staff will provide care as needed. We do make daily appointments for surgery, dental cleanings, boarding, grooming and bathing. Please visit our website for more information.

Hurricane Milton Update:
Starting on Tuesday October 15th. We will be open 7am-5:30pm, doctors on duty at 8am for doctor/patient visits for curbside services only due to exam rooms being unavailable.
At this time we are not taking appointments for boarding and bathing.

Starting Monday October 14th we will be open 7:30-5:30pm for medication and food pick-ups only.
At this time we are working day by day on making sure the roof is repaired and safe for our patients and staff. Please check back daily for updates on when we will be open for doctor/patient visits.

Hurricane Helene has affected so many families and animals. Bluffs is helping Protecting Paws For Life collect donations this week for hurricane victims.

Things to donate include: Dog/Cat wet and dry food, Dog/Cat bowls, Dog/Cat beds and blankets, Dog/Cat Toys, Cat litter/litter boxes, and Dog/Cat treats.

Drop off donations at Bluffs between September 30-October 5th

We have 2 adorable kittens up for adoption: Dale (orange male) and Danica (female tortie). They have been fostered by our amazing practice manager Beth who has socialized them from the time that they were bottle babies. This is Milton, our new clinic cat! 😻🤍

Milton was brought to us in terrible condition: his eyes were completely crusted over, he was infested with fleas, and super anemic and weak. Our amazing practice manager Beth, took Milton into her care and raised him. He is the most playful, care-free, loving kitten ever and he can’t wait to meet all of Bluff’s clients! ☺️💕

Here’s a feel-good, happy ending story with the help of the staff here at Bluffs. 😊

This is our established patient Jack, who we’ve built most of our relationship with treating his hypothyroidism.

Jack presented to us a couple weeks ago as an emergency case, he had fallen off of a sea wall and drowned. His owner immediately rushed him to Bluffs where he was evaluated as unresponsive. Our team under the leadership of Dr. Patrick immediately jumped into action: first starting chest compressions, followed by tilting Jack vertically to discard as much fluid as possible, followed by intubation and delivering manual breaths, followed by intravenous catheter placement to administer emergency drugs. With great teamwork and diligence our team was able to help Jack gain a heartbeat and breathe on his own.

Jack was then transported to a 24-hour emergency facility where he was able to be monitored closely through the night, and today he returned to Bluffs to recheck his chest xrays which revealed significant improvement and his owner says he is almost back to his normal self!

The team is so thankful that Jack is ok. This field can be physically, mentally, and emotionally challenging, but cases like this where our work truly gave this animal another chance at life is why we do it. ❤️

Hey everyone! We ran into some plumbing difficulties over the weekend that have flooded majority of our treatment area. For the safety of our team will remain closed until the problem has been fixed. IT'S OFFICIAL! We are paperless! We would like to thank our incredible reception staff for all of their non-stop, hard work. On top of their busy work days, they have spent the last several months diligently sorting through each patient file and scanning them in to our new computer software system. While they each assisted in all parts of the process, they held primary roles that streamlined this process and allowed the completion to occur so efficiently.
