We figured we would do an Abigail update. 💕

She just looks better! Her new mom says she is still hissy and swats, but not as much. She goes back next week to have her sutures removed. Paws crossed everything is good and she is on the road to recovery. No more cold winters for you Abigail!

The seasons are changing. Depending on where you live, colder weather is on its way. Now is the time to think about your feral and stray community. They are going to need warm shelters from the harsh weather to come. Be creative! You can make inexpensive shelters from old coolers and creates.
Coolers make great shelters because they are already insulated All that you need to do is cut a hole large enough for a cat but not a predator and put enough straw in for bedding and warmth. Avoid blankets or cloth as they get damp and can freeze. You can be as simple or extravagant as you wish.

How can you tell if you cat is happy and healthy? There are several ways. If your fur baby walk with their tail like a question mark it means they are happy to see you. Cuddling, playing, and rubbing against you are also indications of a happy kitty!

Why is it important to have your kitten spayed or neutered? Well, aside from the obvious reason of population control, it reduces the chance of breast tumors and prevents uterine infection in females. Breast tumors could be cancerous in about 90% of cats according to ASPCA. Having your male neutered can stop them from spraying and marking their territory , they are not as apt to roam and it reduces the risk of prostate problems and prevents testicular cancer.
