In-home and residential dog training focused on obedience training and behavior modification. Training programs are individualized to fit the needs of the client and deal with the specific problems of each dog. Owner and Trainer, Michele Calvosa, is a graduate of Bart and Michael Bellon’s NePoPo® Gold School.* She has been an animal lover all her life. She started walking and training dogs for her

neighbors, friends and family, moreover, she taught them how to work with their dogs to achieve the same result. Many years, many dogs, and much schooling later, she decided to start a professional business training dogs. K9 Academy are dedicated to the idea that spontaneous behavior is the basis of training a stable and balanced dog who works with heart and soul to perform on cue. Proper socialization, shaping and developing behaviors in the youngest pups yields an obedient dog who loves to work for you. Training pups and adult dogs is only a small part of what we do. The most important part of what we do is to help the clients help their dogs. Michele is an AKC evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen program, Trick Dog titles, and AKC Dogfit Instructor.

The first from UC Davis
"hip dysplasia, cranial cruciate ligament tears and two types of cancer in sterilized golden retrievers compared with their intact counterparts. The research found the health risks generally were greater for dogs that were younger than 1 year when sterilized."

The second, UGA, "found a strong association between sterilization and greater longevity."

This is the joy in spontaneous learning. Equipment at an AirBNBfor the weekend. She figured out how to climb, and I rewarded it and gave it a name.

A little just-for-fun video. Hold and drop veggies (pepper, tomato, eggplant). This dog loves them, especially tomato. Impromptu game, naked dog, no ability to correct on the dog. Small voice cue warning for the tomato, and I readjust placement when she tries to mouth it. No vegetables were harmed in this exercise. All unscathed. Next job, retreiving food items. . .hot dog anyone?
