Pets can’t tell us when they’re in pain, but they do show signs of it. Recognizing the signs of pain in pets early can make all the difference in keeping them healthy and comfortable.

👉 Watch for common pain symptoms in dogs and cats:

- Limping or difficulty moving
- Changes in appetite or sleep
- Hiding, withdrawing, or reduced interaction
- Whining, growling, or unusual vocalization
- Excessive licking, chewing, or grooming of one area
- Muscles Spasms

Pain in pets is never normal. Whether it’s arthritis, injury, dental disease, or another health concern, timely veterinary care is key.

📞 If you notice these changes, call us. Our veterinary team is here to help, whether your pet requires a routine exam, pain management, or an emergency veterinary visit. We’ll guide you to the right next step to keep your pet safe and thriving. 💛

September is Disaster Preparedness Month, and that includes pets, too. Whether it’s a hurricane, wildfire, flood, or unexpected emergency, having a plan can make all the difference. Make sure your pet’s emergency kit is stocked with food, water, medications, important records, and more. Don’t forget comfort items like a favorite toy or blanket!

Being prepared means peace of mind for you and your pets.

Trying to beat the heat? Here’s something every pet parent should know.

We know you and your pets are looking for ways to cool off this summer—but beware of blue-green algae.

This toxic algae often grows in ponds, lakes, and still water during warm weather and can look like green paint or scum. Just a few licks or a quick swim in contaminated water can lead to severe illness—or even be fatal—for pets.

⚠️ To stay safe:
✔️ Avoid letting your pet drink or swim in stagnant or discolored water.
✔️ Rinse them off if they’ve been in natural water sources.
✔️ If exposure is suspected, seek emergency veterinary care right away.

When in doubt, stay out. We’re here if you need us.

As we transition from summer to work, school, and daily routines, it’s easy to overlook everyday items that can be harmful—or even deadly—to our pets. In this video, our team shares some of the most common household toxins for cats and dogs, from food items, cleaning products, medications, and more.

Tip for pet parents:
Keep all hazardous items stored securely and out of reach, especially during busy mornings or after-school routines.

⚠️ If you suspect your pet has ingested something toxic:
• Stay calm.
• Remove access to the substance.
• Call the ASPCA Pet Poison Helpline (888) 426-4435 & visit your nearest emergency veterinary hospital immediately.

🐾 Recovery Update: Brave Little Munchie ❤️

Meet Munchie, a true fighter. Just a few days ago, Munchie came to us after a harrowing encounter with a coyote. Thanks to his quick-thinking family and fast emergency care, this sweet pup is now on the road to recovery — tail wags and all! Munchie suffered some trauma, but we're happy to report he’s healing well and already showing that signature spark in his eyes again.

💪 Big shoutout to our veterinary team who worked tirelessly to stabilize, treat, and monitor Munchie.

And thank you to Munchie's family for trusting us with his care.

Please join us in sending Munchie some love as he continues to heal!

Snake Season is Here—Stay Alert, Pet Parents!

Snakes can be found in backyards, parks, hiking trails, and even near water sources. Peak activity occurs during warmer months, especially at dawn and dusk. Pets are often bitten on the face or legs while investigating tall grass, brush, or hidden crevices.

To help prevent bites:
✔️ Keep pets on a leash during walks.
✔️ Avoid tall grass, rocky areas, and dunes.
✔️ Don’t let pets explore under logs or brush piles.

🚨 If you suspect your pet has been bitten:
• Look for sudden swelling, pain, or bleeding.
• Avoid handling the bite area.
• Keep your pet calm and carry them if possible.
• Head to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital right away.
