After taking a 15-year break from cutting, Wendy and Scot Claus joined Team Giannini when they purchased CATS ROYAL BLUE and HUNTIN TIME LUCY two years ago.

Since then, their horses have secured some impressive accomplishments:

CATS ROYAL BLUE
🏆 2022 TOP 3 in the World, $5k Novice Horse (Mike Giannini, rider)

🏆 2022 Top 3 in the world, $5k Novice Horse Non Pro (Wendy Claus, rider)

🏆 2022 World Show Champion, $5k Novice Non Pro

🏆 2023 Top 5 in the world, Unlimited Am.

HUNTIN TIME LUCY
🏆At this year’s World Finals, Scot and Lucy qualified in both the $35k Non Pro and $15k Am, where they drew FOUR CHECKS in FOUR RUNS!

🏆 Scot and Lucy completed 2023 ranked Top 5 in the World ($35k Non Pro).

🏆 Scot and Lucy also finished their year ranked 8th in the World in the $15k Am (and they were World Finals Show Reserve Champion in that class).

We appreciate all of our clients very much, and we sure enjoy watching them succeed in the cutting pen.

OK guys, Team Giannini is in big WOOT WOOT mode, and here’s why:

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Scot and Huntin Time Lucy finished 2023 with a TOP 5 IN THE WORLD ranking in the $35k Non Pro!!!!!! We are so proud of how this team has progressed in the last year, and they did an outstanding job of showing here in the $35k Non Pro at the World Finals!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Wendy and Cats Royal Blue had a gorgeous 218.5 run today at the World Finals and also finished 2023 with a Top 5 world ranking for the second consecutive year!

NEXT UP: Scot and Lucy have two additional days of competition, as they *also* qualified for the World Finals in the $15k Amateur.

It’s a good day when you can pull a 10-year-old mare off pasture and ride her bridleless on a cow, and she feels ready for the Open. PLAY LIKE A KITTEN hasn’t been ridden in 4 years; we trotted in a few circles, slipped off her bridle, and showed her a cow. PLAY LIKE A KITTEN is by Metallic Cat and out of Play Like A Ricochet (dam of CATS SMART RICOCHET and CATS ROYAL BLUE).

Happy Easter! CAT’S ROYAL BLUE has been very focused on EGGS recently, but she took a break from the breeding barn to show at Queen Creek this week, where she marked a 75 and two 74.5’s to bring home $3k for three rides in the Unlimited Am. Thank you, AZCHA for hosting a fun show!

🔥BOY HOWDY, what a night at the NCHA World Finals, where Wendy and Cat put up *another* smoking 222 score to earn the $5k NOVICE NON PRO WORLD FINALS SHOW CHAMPION title! 🏆 🔥 Although Team Giannini maintained a conservative hauling schedule (and never set foot in Texas until this week), Cat and Wendy finished 3rd in the 2022 NCHA World standings! 🔥Needless to say: Wendy, Scot, and Mike are over the moon with Cat’s performance — and guess what?! Cat and Mike will show tomorrow and Saturday in the Open $5k Novice Horse! We are so grateful for your support and encouragement; Cat’s success is a win for everyone who has ever cheered her on! 🐴

What a great time!! Thank You TLC cutting productions!! Tod and Kathy Bro, Les and Tammie Bates and Cody and Majerle Jones Lamont!! We had a great dinner and a very fun time. Was a fun 4th July celebration!! Bar D chuck wagon and Bar D Band were awesome!!!
