Poops, we did it again! We're raising funds and spreading the love this Valentine's Day by bringing back our holiday specials for your loved ones and others. Sure, you can send your special someone a cute e-card featuring adorable shelter pets for $5, but wouldn't you rather stick it to that ex (you know the one) and put their name in one of our litter boxes? A shelter cat will generously add another special gift for them! Our shelter dogs are also standing by and, for a donation of $25 or more, we'll write that not-so-special someone's name on a p**p bag and throw it in the nearest trash can or Cybertruck we can find. Want to give some love to a certain shelter pet? You can give them a tasty treat for just $10...and then that treat will eventually end up in a p**p bag or litter box, because that's what Valentine's Day is all about - giving people crap! We'll put it all on blast tomorrow! Get that last-minute gift for your sweetheart or sweetfart today: https://bit.ly/3QhWbWs!

Sometimes it takes the pretty boys a little longer to figure it all out. Throw in a name like Ashton? Forget about it! A playful pup at heart, Ashton is looking for a second chance at love here at Seattle Humane. This sweet lab is still learning the ropes, which he loves to fling around the yard, and just needs a patient family to keep up his training. He has a positive history with other dogs, and would likely benefit from a good boy or girl to give him a crash course on manners.

Say it with us now: Dogs 👏 do 👏better 👏 outside 👏 the 👏 shelter! That’s certainly been the case for Lasagna, who is enjoying a lovely foster break. This 10-month-old collie mix came to us from Renton Animal Control at the beginning of January. He loves people and other dogs, but he isn’t a big fan of loud noises, which are hard to avoid when you’re located right off the interstate. In his foster home he has loved going outside, and his foster parent raves about his leash manners. Lasagna does get pretty excited about having two other dogs in the home, but calms down when they’re hanging outside. As you can see, he’s also a world-class snoozer when he’s not out on the trails. With a little time – and some peace and quiet – Lasagna will do great in his new, loving home. Ask an adoption advisor about scheduling a visit!

It's time to let the Moose loose! This cuddly fella came to us from Feisty Felines in Lewis County earlier this month. Our amazing vets successfully removed a malignant tumor from his back and do not expect it to return, but it will be good for Moose's new family and vet to keep an eye out in the future. Aside from needing a home and to grow some fur back, Moose is feline fine!

Pomona is one cute pupper, and she certainly seems to know it! She came to us from our friends at Regional Animal Services of King County, where she'd been since mid-January. She loves to go on walks and play fetch, and eventually she'll give you the ball. Pomona also likes playing with other dogs - she can be a little bossy, but some dogs are into that. Zig-zag down to Seattle Humane and meet Pomona today!

As painful as it is to admit, not every dog is a fan of Social Media Guy! Newman is one tough customer and appears to fancy himself a ladies dog. He does enjoy other dogs, including his buddy, Bodhi. Watch this video and imagine him having an even better time without SMG there.

It seems to get colder and colder outside while Junior just keeps warming up! He can't wait to do zoomies in the yard before getting harnessed for a lovely walk on our frozen trails. Junior loves to stop and check in with you for a couple pets along the way. Worried about your energy bill? Junior makes the best lap warmer! Saying goodbye is the hardest part, but hopefully the next time we do it will be when he's hopping into the car with his new family!

Marshall has a lot going on for him - he loves other dogs, has a positive history with cats and kids and he's as smart as he is handsome! Unfortunately, a change in housing circumstances resulted in this young fella being back here at Seattle Humane. Let's marshal our Rescue Squad to find Marshall his new family today!

Due to another exciting all-staff meeting requiring all the staff, our Adoptions Department and Pet Resource Center will be opening at 2:30 p.m. today. Maximus will not be attending the meeting, but we're sure he'll be well rested and ready for visitors when we're done.

Harold was a little puppy when he came to us from Whatcome Humane last September. He was adopted the very next day! We recently welcomed him back, after he was found laying outside an elementary school in Snohomish. Still very playful and affectionate, Harold is getting back out there and looking for love. We don't always know why a pet is abandoned, but we're here to help them when they need a second (or even third) chance!

The snow may have had a chilling effect, but we were still able to connect 61 pets with their people last week, and that is certainly worth celebrating at a time when hope is in low supply. Nothing beats the cold like a good cuddle, and we look forward to connecting even more families with their cuddle buddies this week!

Happy birthday and Caturday to Maximus! He turns 3 today. Maximus was just the tiniest kitten when he first came to Seattle Humane from Kitty City in Memphis, Tennessee. He was returned last May, and he's been looking for the right family ever since. It will take him time to settle into a new home, and maybe he won't get there today, but he'll get plenty of TLC from us until then. 🙏🐾❤️🎂

Sadie (FKA Cookie) was part of a rescue flight out of Alabama back in mid-October. While she and her fellow furry passengers didn’t fly first class, their prospects were still incredibly more promising than staying where they were. She came to Seattle Humane from Save a Pet Rescue Adoption and Transport, which pulls pets from high-kill shelters, and her flight was sponsored by Greater Good Charities. In just four short days at Seattle Humane, Sadie received food, shelter, a quality spay surgery and, of course, a new family!
“Sadie is about as perfect of a companion as you could hope for when adopting a pet,” her dad says. “She is the first dog that we have adopted together, and we got incredibly lucky that Sadie found us. When we went to Seattle Humane, she bonded to us immediately and we knew she was the one for us.”
Her dad says it didn’t take too long for Sadie to get acclimated to her new home, both her place of residence and that lovely, rainy Pacific Northwest climate. She’s also added a number of canine besties to her squad since arriving here more than four months ago.
“When she isn’t playing with her friends, she’s perfectly content with sleeping on the couch with her toys; especially when a bit of sunshine peeks through the windows,” her dad says. “We are so happy to have her in our family, and can’t wait to see her grow into her adult self! Thank you all so much for what you do each and every day. We are incredibly thankful to have adopted Sadie from Seattle Humane!”

Fia is still looking for her happy valentine! Sweet, cuddly and adventurous, any family would be lucky to have her heart. She's been waiting so long to go home, so pay her a visit if you're looking for a lovely pupper to be your one and only!

Despite the weather, Junior has been warming up at Seattle Humane since arriving here last month. The more time he spends with people, the less happy he is to say goodbye. He loves to cuddle, go on walks and could do well in a home with a confident canine in the home - he used to live with two! Give this big boy a little time and you'll see that pittie smile shine through.
