It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to shut down this page…. Things have changed over the years and I feel like it’s now best to channel followers on this page directly to Seattle Humane’s own web site. In doing that, there are two things I want to pass on. One, SH’s site is constantly being updated with new little ones looking for homes (dogs, cats, and small animals), so check their site often. With that being said, the second thing I want you to know is that the web site is never as updated as going to the shelter in person. It’s just not.

Never give up on finding the right pet for you- even if it takes a bit longer. And when you go to visit a pet you may have seen on the web site or heard about through a friend, keep an open mind. You may not connect with the one you came in to see, but someone else that caught your eye.

Ok, one more thing I want to share and then I’ll let you go. When you choose to visit with a special pet, like a dog or cat, know that they may be stressed or scared. Be patient. Give them time to show you their true selves.

I wish you the best of luck in your search for finding your future companion!

All the best. 💜

This handsome dog is 9-year-old Chocolate Shake, an American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He has been in and out of foster care as the vets took care of a couple of older dog issues. He's a healthy boy now back on campus and working his charms. Chocolate Shake is described as kind, friendly, and gentle. He likes to be near his people and is the perfect go to work dog soaking up the love and resting nearby until the day is over. Chocolate Shake has a good history with dogs and can live with all kids. Meet him at the shelter Tuesday through Sunday from Noon to 6 PM.

Faces of Love

Seattle Humane. A no kill shelter dedicated to saving lives and completing families. They have staff and volunteers who help match families with dogs and cats, and small critters to find their perfect home. Shelter pets are given a safe place to rest their heads (and tails) along with nutritious meals, walks, and LOTS of cuddles. There are volunteers that come every day to make sure dogs get time out of their rooms for exercise, basic training, and cuddles; cats plenty of human interaction and cuddles; and for the small critters human interaction and affection if they’re up for it. The pets you see on this site are either available for adoption or have since been adopted. I hope you enjoy the beautiful faces of all the pets I share on this page! If you have any specific questions regarding adoptable pets or general questions about Seattle Humane, please refer to their official website at seattlehumane.org or social channels @SeattleHumane. Enjoy!
