We are urging all clients to make sure your pets are current on rabies vaccines. Not sure if you are? Give us a call! We can schedule appointments to make sure your pet is up to date!

A bat from Whatcom County has tested positive for rabies, and it's the first confirmed case in the county for 2024. Whatcom County Health and Community Services wants to remind you to take steps to stay safe from rabies:
- Never handle, feed or play with bats.
- Teach children to avoid bats and to tell an adult if they have any contact with a bat.
- Keep pets away from bats and make sure your pet has a current rabies vaccination.
- Prevent bats from entering your home by making sure that windows and doors are properly screened.

We are very excited to announce the newest member of our team! Dr. Arianna Calvin recently earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University, following her Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuroscience from the same institution in 2021. She is enthusiastic about joining Meridian Street Veterinary and looks forward to experiencing the deep bond between this community and their pets. Dr. Calvin's professional interests encompass preventative medicine, chronic condition management, internal medicine, dentistry, and pain management.

Returning to her roots in western Washington, where she grew up, Dr. Calvin is eager to reconnect with the area. Outside of work, she enjoys fly-fishing with her husband, spending time on any body of water, particularly in the Salish Sea, and playing with her two cats, Madi and Coho. Please join us in welcoming her!
