This tasty morsel is Chicken Biscuit and she's wearing her very stylish eye protection so that she can receive a therapeutic laser treatment following her spay! We love having a non-invasive treatment modality to help aid healing and reduce inflammation for a variety of concerns. We also love getting to cuddle cool cats and kittens like Chicken Biscuit!

It's Spooky Season! We love to share our favorite holiday traditions with our pets but for many, Halloween is more "trick" than "treat." Here are our top three ways to make the season a little less spooky for our furry friends!

When Max comes in, everyone wants to help! Max is 130 pounds of love and fur and we all want to be his best friend. Luckily for us, he's happy to allow our adoration- especially if it comes with a lickmat of frozen mashed potato.

Dash is one of those magical pups who decided to take finding the right family into his own paws. He was discovered on the streets of LA with some tail trauma but is now living the better-than-good life with a nub of a tail, an eye for treat pouches, and his forever family. This goodest boy is social, optimistic and brave. He charmed the scrubs off Dr. Godbey and her team and we are so happy that he's found the family and love he deserves. We are excited to have more opportunities to praise his perfection (and feed him yogurt) in the future!

What a treat to see sweet Arya this week! Dr. Estes and her team got to work with this gorgeous gal and her wonderful family. Arya is a fan of a less-is-more Fear Free approach and was happy to help Dr. Estes write her notes! We love when our patients can relax with our team and know that we are building positive associations for future care. The chance to run our fingers through this magnificent coat and bask in Arya's presence is just the icing on the cake.

Did our day start in the best possible way, or what? Bernadette is twice as magical in person and she met Dr. Schasch and her team this morning for her first puppy visit. Needless to say, we were thrilled to meet her and introduce her to the delights of a Fear Free practice that is well-stocked with treats! This absolute treasure has landed a perfect home, with TWO other Saint Bernards! We can't wait to watch her grow by leaps and bounds and are so happy to be a part of this family's care team!

The updates to the CDC requirements for dogs entering the United States has been a rollercoaster, to put it mildly. The initial plan which required an ISO compliant microchip and USDA endorsed rabies certificate, in addition to a CDC Import Form, and more... has been distilled down to:
As of August 1st 2024
For dogs entering or returning to the US, who have not been to a high-rabies-risk country in the last 6 months-
-A CDC Dog Import Form receipt
-Dogs must be at least 6 months of age
-Dogs must appear healthy upon arrival
-Dogs must have a microchip which can be detected by a universal microchip reader
-Washington State requires rabies vaccination of all dogs, cats and ferrets. A valid rabies certificate is also required if you are entering the United States through Washington. USDA endorsement is not required.
We have links to the CDC Dog Import Form, and instructions for completion, on our website. We also have a link to the countries which are considered high risk for rabies.
You may also search the CDC website for more information, or for the requirements of importing a dog from a high-rabies-risk country.
Happy travels!

What could we say about Ozzy that isn't obvious to anyone who sees his perfect white moustache, his sensational tuxedo, his blur of a tail, and the soul of all our bestest of friends in his eyes? Ozzy is magnificent and we are all his biggest fans. Dr. Godbey and her assitant Mikayla met Ozzy last week and will tell anyone who will listen of his bravery, his smarts, and his dynamite personality. Mikayla and Ozzy practiced known cues, like sitting, as well as desensitization for common treatments, like vaccines! Ozzy was a star and accepted pill pockets in tribute. We are so happy that Ozzy has landed in his fabulous forever home, and thrilled to be a part of this certified good boy's journey.

We recognize that this is a potentially stressful addition to your travel plans. Our veterinarians are working hard to manage these requests and help our clients navigate this new process. However, we are also providing in-person care for pets with medical needs and so we ask that you be flexible with your plans to ensure success. All our dogs benefit from practices which reduce their risk of fatal diseases like rabies.

We are so excited to launch .vet this coming Monday and dramatically improve our client access and communications. We appreciate your patience while we learn this new system and work out any kinks, but this will be a serious upgrade we know you will enjoy. The transition to their texting platform took much less time than anticipated and is up and running!
We will no longer be linked with PetDesk beginning Monday the 15th and you will be able to download the Otto app instead, or simply access your needs through your browser. Hooray for technology that makes our lives easier so we can spend more time snuggling our pets πŸ•πŸˆ
