My name is Dr. Alicia Andras, and I have spent my entire life wanting to be a veterinarian. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013, and knew that in addition to regular general practice medicine, there were other more holistic methods that would be of benefit to so many pets. I started with acupuncture, achieving my CVA through the Chi Institute in 2015, and this small business w
as born. Seeing patients only at night, after my full-time day job in general practice, I was constantly amazed at the power of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Being able to connect with clients and patients in such a different way was incredibly rewarding, and I wanted more! My wonderful husband, Dr. Mike at Ascend Chiropractic in Bellingham, encouraged me to train in Chiropractic next, and I was certified in Animal Chiropractic through Options for Animals in 2018. I already knew the amazing benefits of a healthy spine from my husband's practice, and it quickly became obvious that dogs and cats were no different. The final piece of the puzzle was the lack of rehabilitation services for pets in our area. I wanted to not only help pets with pain and maintain a healthy nervous system, but to improve on strength and balance and keep them mobile! After a long road, including years of delays with COVID, I finally finished my CCRT certification through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute at the end of 2021. In December of 2021, I took a big leap of faith to leave the world of general practice completely, and now am solely focused on this practice. Currently our appointments take place at Ascend Chiropractic after their business hours on Fridays and Saturdays, and rehab is limited to manual therapy, massage, and land exercises. We have plans to add additional therapies including laser, PEMF, ultrasound, regenerative medicine, and more as time goes on, and cannot wait to offer expanding options for pets in our area. I have a special place in my heart for giant breed, old, broken, or special needs pets, and absolutely love helping to make their golden years more comfortable and happy. I also love to treat cats, who make shockingly wonderful acupuncture patients, much to many owners' surprise! These modalities can be useful for almost any ailment or to maintain health, so if you have questions do not hesitate to reach out! My husband and I live on our 43 acre farm in Kendall, along with our 5 chickens named "the Ritas" (they are all identical!), our Wolfhound Link, and our tripawd Malamute Benny. When we aren't doctoring, you'll find us working the farm, hiking our trails, or somewhere in the Mt. Baker wilderness, likely skiing if there is any snow to be found. We absolutely love this region, and are so lucky to call it home since 2015. I am so excited for the next chapter of holistic medicine in our area, and look forward to meeting you and your furry loved ones!
