Our July "Bigs" DOTM is Rebel! 💙

Rebel is a wild boy! He is one of our big puppies who can sometimes be a little too excited for big packs but he does really well with a couple of friends around his age and temperament! He loves to play fetch and he loves to chase his friends around. It's always an exciting day when our Rebel is around!

Our Littles DOTM for July is Sparky!

This is Sparky! He’s been coming in for littles group play for just over three years!! Sparky is so gentle and sweet. He steals hearts with his shy, endearing demeanor and his sweet eyes. He may be a bit nervous at first, but once he warms up he loves gentle pets and quiet times being held, making him a good buddy to have around. We love Sparky so much!

July has been a super fun month around here! 🌊 Pool time, 😎 naps in the sun, and plenty of 🐾 playtime have kept us busy. Time to celebrate our Dogs of the Month!

First up is our Personal Play Dog of the Month - Howard! 💙

Howard is a fun and energetic boy! He is always so excited to come and hang out with us. He can spend hours playing fetch. We love his snorts and stomps while he gets all of the love from us. He's always so happy to be here and we always have so much fun with him!

One of the things we often hear from our parents is how tired their dogs are not just on the days they come in, but the day after, too! Regular daycare helps keep your furry family in top mental and physical shape, with lots of new enrichment, exercise, and mental stimulation. If it's been awhile since your pup has come in, bring them over!

Happy Early 4th of July! Just a reminder that we will be closed tomorrow. We know the 4th can be a stressful day for your pups - here are a few tips to help them out!

🇺🇸 Take your dog out for a long walk or other exercise earlier in they day before it gets noisy out. Plus, being a little tired will help them be a little less reactive to the noise.

🇺🇸 Make sure your dog's collar is ON with current info, microchip data is up to date, and all gates, fences, and doors are secure at your home (or wherever you will be).

🇺🇸 Keep curtains closed, turn on calming music and fans to help mask the noise, and set up a safe, cozy space inside with your pup's favorite toys and blankets. Grab an extra bully chew or other special treat from the store today!

🇺🇸 If you use calming supplements or meds, now is the time to use them (check with your vet if you have any questions). Also, calming shirts, sprays, and other aids are helpful for some dogs.

🇺🇸 If your dog does get fearful, stay calm. Reassure them and let them know they are safe, but keep it mellow. Your dog will sense your mood, and your calm confidence will help them feel safe.

Luna is our June Personal Play DOTM!

Luna is a super sweet girl! She has been coming to Puget for a few weeks now and we always look forward to seeing her happy face. She loves to sun bathe and get lots of love from us. Her wiggles brighten up our day every time she comes in!

What a trio! 😍 The diversity of breeds, temperaments, and play styles of the dogs that come in ensures that your dog is sure to find a pal amongst the pack. We do a little matchmaking, of course, by not only giving them a temperament test on their first day, but also by getting to know your dog and their individual personality. Then, we can match them up when they come in, so that everyone has the BEST time!

We learn TONS about each other on your first day! Slow introductions mean a paw-sitive and safe experience right out of the gate, and then it's time to play!

Taking in the air with Laela! Did you know that a dog's sense of smell is 10,000 to 100,000 times more acute than a human's? One of the reasons a dog has a much better smelling ability than we do has to do with the number of scent receptors: For every scent receptor a human has, a dog has about 50! Letting dogs sniff and smell to their heart's content helps stimulate them mentally, too. Daycare has SO many new scents to explore, and it's one part of how they stay engaged while they are with us!

Temperament testing is a great way for us to gain your dog's trust, get to know their preferred types of play, and establish a connection that makes daycare a breeze!
