Been a crazy, scary, wonderful few days with CJ! Whatcom Humane Society and Northshore Veterinary Hospital worked tirelessly, and selflessly, to help figure out how best to get CJ the medical help she needed. She was spayed, had a gastropexy procedure, a scary tumor removed (benign!), and a very partial tail amputation.

It was a long day for our sweet dog, but much less stressful than it might have been with people who didn't care so much.

Her recovery couldn't be going better, with the only challenge being trying to keep both dogs peaceful and calm.

Thanks to all the folks who have asked after her. She is now officially a Nichols-Fischer, with registered microchip, license, and everything!

This is our new dog, CJ. I cannot read her mind, or ask her directly; all any of us can do is try to understand her body language, movement, and vocalizations. I think she is starting to feel at home.
