Since 2015, when we began as "Keeping K-9s in Kevlar," we have actively listened to handlers' needs. The nonprofit 30x30 Fundraising came about in response to the growing list of requests that vesting K9s with "Keeping K-9s in Kevlar" alone could not fulfill. We continue to run both non-profits with the same team, plus more K9 handler experts in the field to provide the best fundraising support.

🐾✨ Huge update for K9 Hondo! 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce that K9 Hondo has been cleared to return to full duty! 🐶💪 A recent blood check shows his health is back to normal, thanks to the hard work of our friends at Blue Pearl Veterinary Hospital in Kirkland, WA, and Corporal Lerma’s dedication in rehabilitating him over the past few months. They’re both ecstatic to be back at deployable status!

On the same day Hondo was cleared, Mill Creek Police Officers responded to a burglary. A suspect was spotted on a rooftop, and Corporal Lerma deployed K9 Hondo to prevent the suspect from fleeing. Thanks to Hondo’s presence, the suspect peacefully surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

Corporal Lerma and K9 Hondo want to express their sincerest gratitude for all the support and well wishes during this challenging time. The support from our community members in Mill Creek, Snohomish County, and the State of Washington has been and will always be a huge blessing to Corporal Lerma and K9 Hondo.

BREAKING: K9 Kobe is SHOT & SAVED wearing his K9 Storm Aerial Insertion Vest!!

K9 Kobe is rushed to the vet after sustaining a gunshot wound to his front paws.

He has no bruising, no broken bones, and after a thorough x-ray it is determined that no other bullets thankfully struck him during the intense firefight.

When his Aerial Insertion Vest is sent back to us for repairs, we notice a small opening in a seam of the vest that looks suspicious...

Since 2015, when we began as "Keeping K-9s in Kevlar," we have actively listened to handlers' needs. The nonprofit 30x30 Fundraising came about in response to the growing list of requests that vesting K9s with "Keeping K-9s in Kevlar" alone could not fulfill. We continue to run both non-profits with the same team, plus more K9 handler experts in the field to provide the best fundraising support.
