La Vega Veterinary Clinic is looking for a part time (may become full time) veterinary receptionist. This individual needs to be dependable, have a good work ethic, have excellent customer service skills, and be a team player. Bilingual is strongly preferred. The job duties will include, but are not limited to: Answer phone calls and emails, schedule appointments and surgical procedures, enter client and patient information, enter charges, entering complete medical histories, check in/out patients , provide client education, fill prescriptions in our in-house pharmacy, keep a clean and organized work area, help keep the clinic clean and organized and maintain a positive attitude. Must be able to lift 30 pounds and assist other staff members as needed. Prior veterinary clinic experience is preferred but not required. Pay depends on experience $11- $15/ hour

Tonight we finally put Sierra to sleep. She has been battling a progressive liver disease since this summer.
Her registered name was “Hamilton’s Skip a Doll”
She was born on our pasture.
She gave birth to a beautiful c**t on our pasture. And now she is buried there. I will miss her, but I’m relieved she’s no longer suffering.

Sorry I can’t be there. (My son is getting married tomorrow) This committee can make recommendations to the city council on policies ordinances such as; increased animal Contol officers, mandatory spay /neuter (with only the exception made by a vet signed breeder health certificate (lasts 2 years), mandatory microchipping, license fee (waived if microchipped), and last, what neighboring communities are following similar guidelines so they can admit their strays to our shelter for a reasonable cost.
Many of these ordinances WERE in place, but not maintained due to poor shelter managment (it cannot be “no kill” until the above are enforced COUNTYWIDE), and sufficient numbers of animal control officers
