We rescued Koda & Bear from death row in 2021; heartbreakingly, they have been waiting since. They recently went into a foster home, but it was short-lived. It broke our hearts seeing them back, but deep down, we know that the perfect home is out there. They are such great dogs, they deserve it. We rescued Koda from death row in July 2021, after she was surrendered to the shelter because of dental issues. Upon saving her, we were informed that Koda was surrendered with her sibling, Bear. ❤️‍🩹 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 • After a difficult and stressful few days awaiting King’s CAT scan results, we finally have his final report and diagnosis. When we rescued King, we didn’t know that he was hit by a car. We didn’t know the extent of his injuries, yet we vowed never to give up on him. We received multiples messages telling us to euthanize King, that we were inhumane. Even the veterinarian recommended euthanasia because they couldn’t bare to hear him whimper. Thankfully, they are not in rescue - we are. We didn’t want to make a critical choice without exhausting all our options and knowing whether there was a chance. Now, onto his diagnosis. King was diagnosed with subacute impression fracture of L6 with dorsal spinous process fracture and mild subluxation of L7, suspect epidural hematoma, along with a healing fracture of the right iliac wing. After receiving his CAT scan, we promptly sent King’s results to our board-certified surgeon. King will be able to survive and heal. It will be a long recovery, with weeks of crate rest, but King will live. We are tremendously grateful for everyone’s support, for everyone who believed in us and King, and for never giving up on him. King is stable; he is on strong pain management medication and crate rest. His recovery will be long, but King’s life is worth it. King deserved this second chance at life, and he will have it. ❤️‍🩹 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘆 • We want to provide an important update on Bentley’s situation. A few days ago, we urgently reached out to raise funds for his much-needed surgery. Bentley has been diagnosed with brachycephalic syndrome, an elongated soft palate and everted laryngeal saccules. He requires this life-saving surgery immediately, as his breathing is severely compromised. Before the operation, Bentley must be stabilized, and he is scheduled to see a specialist in just a few days and undergo surgery. Additionally, Bentley has been suffering from years of neglect. He has serious infections in his ears, and his ear canal is nearly closed because of the lack of care he has received. He is in a soft cone to prevent him from scratching at his ears, which he does until they bleed. We need everyone to keep Bentley in your thoughts. 💔 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 • Today marks a critical turning point for King, who underwent a CAT scan after a troubling diagnosis yesterday. After being hit by a car, King is now facing significant injuries, including a spinal fracture affecting two vertebrae, a hip bone injury, an intra-articular injury to his right knee, and complications with both hock joints. He has been under heavy pain management, but due to the severity of his injuries and his high level of pain, immediate treatment was necessary. A specialist performed a CAT scan to assess the full extent of his injuries, which is essential for determining the best course of action to aid him. We incurred the full cost of the CAT scan, totaling $2,500. Currently, we are about $1,400 short and urgently need your help to cover this expense. We expect to receive the CAT scan report within the next few hours and will provide updates as soon as we have them. King has been in distress despite the pain medication, making this CAT scan our last opportunity to gain clarity before we have to make a critical decision.
