Damian’s story is heartbreaking. Damian was found roaming the streets of a bad neighborhood in Florida over a year ago. His head was severely swollen, he had flies swarming him, and he was hours away from dying. Damian’s jugular was out, as his previous “owner” left him with an embedded collar. After months in custody, Damian was finally released and came to us. His previous owner/abuser was thankfully sentenced to pay for his life-saving surgeries, and is now on a no-animals list. In February 2023, she was found abandoned on the side of the road in Miami. After her rescuer faced difficult times, they couldn’t continue providing for her. When Valkyrie came to us, she was pregnant and urgently needed help. Now that Valkyrie has weaned her puppies, we hope someone will open their home to her. Val is such a wonderful dog. He has pressure sores throughout his body. His skin and eyes have been healing beautifully, and he is in much better condition overall! This is a sad story that we have heard thousands of times, and the dogs always pay the price of losing the only home they knew. We find comfort knowing that Ashton is safe with us, and ready for a new beginning. Ashton is a sweet nine year old boy, who loves people and other dogs. He is a big couch potato, but would prefer a home without children. Ashton is also housebroken and knows basic commands. All he now needs is a home of his own. 🐶 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿 • After going through a lot in these past few months, Casper is finally ready for a new beginning.We rescued Casper after a video began going around social media, wherein Casper was being hit by his foster, Erika López.We later learned that a few months prior, Erika López went to the beach and unleashed Casper in Miami Dade, which is illegal and resulted in an altercation and the death of another dog. The couple ended up suing Erika López, and we once again made another discovery.To try to clean her hands, the foster sent Casper to an unknown “board and train” facility, despite everyone referring her to well known trainers.Casper came back from the “training” shaking and terrified.After everything, Casper was brought back to the shelter where he was going to be euthanized, and where we ultimately rescued him from.
