I am an ARMY VET who was staitoned at YPG in '94-'96, and worked on the M1A1.
I am from Colorado. While in Yuma, I discovered SNOWBIRDING. I never knew what a SNOWBIRD was until living in Yuma. I didn't even know that was an option or a lifestyle. So when I heard about SNOWBIRDS, I decided then and there I was going to choose that lifestyle one day. I'M NOT ONE SO MUCH FOR LIVING IN SOCIAL BOXES. LOL

FAST FORWARD- 26 YEARS LATER- as some of you know, I met my husband NOW EX AT YPG during a joint forces training in 1995. We were testing MOP GEAR IN THE DESERT. LOL. We were even married at the YPG CHAPEL. I got my discharge, moved to Camp Pendleton with my Marine husband, moved back to my home in Colorado, popped out a couple kids, bought a sticks and bricks, and lived the American dream.... NOT HEHE. Unfortunately that marriage ended in 2016. We were married 21 years and have 2 beautiful kids who are now adults.

THIS FINALLY TAKES ME TO WHERE I AM TODAY.

I'm FINALLY LIVING MY DREAM. I DID IT- MY KIDS ARE RAISED AND I CAN SAVE SOME MONEY AND DO ME!🙏 WHEW

I built out my minivan camper and hit the road. I plan to road trip all around Arizona and Nevada this winter. I plan to hit the Quartzsite rock show in January and will be spending time in both Quartzsite and Yuma in January and February, and heading to Sedona for some healing, MINDFULNESS MEDITATION, and checking out Prescott... I HOPE ONE DAY TO CREATE A MINDFULNESS MEDITATION SANCTUARY ON MY COLORADO PROPERTY, FOR PEOPLE TO COME AND PARTICIPATE IN SOME FUN, RELAXING MEDITATION, Pet Therapy, AND other REALLY HELPFUL HEALING ACTIVITIES. IT'S GONNA BE AWESOME! I'M WELL IN MY WAY TO MY DREAM.

As many of you know,
SU***DE AWARENESS IS NEAR MY HEART AS I LOST MY BEST FRIEND TO SU***DE 2Y AGO. Needless to say i almost lost mine more than once as well. I CAN DEFINITELY RELATE TO THE TRAGIC FALL OUT THAT FOLLOWS THESE UNFORTUNATE EVENTS. ANYWAY, HOPE TO POST MORE ON SU***DE AWARENESS HERE IN THE FUTURE. BUT FOR NOW I HOPE EVERYONE KNOWS WE'RE AVAILABLE ANYTIME FOR AN EAR, QUESTIONS, RESOURCES, ETC..

Right now- while living and
traveling around, I'm SAVING MONEY, healing, taking business classes (doing online school), and working. So I'm super busy which is good for me.

ANYWAY, TIME IS TICKING AND LOTS TO BE DONE TO REACH THIS DREAM. I WISH YOU ALL WELL THIS VETERANS CELEBRATION,

VETERANS DAY - WEEK at the Veterans Plaza. This year as every year, the CSU Air Force ROTC, DETACHMENT 90 AFROTC, will be hosting a ceremony. December 6th. More information to follow.

On Veterans Day itself, there aren't any scheduled events, but will be considered a quiet day for reflection. Flags will be flying.

I know I am late in sharing/posting this, I have had my own personal issues around this topic and am focused on healing my own wounds around this tragic event that hit close to my heart a few short months ago. Please, if you or someone you know is struggling, I hope you know there are people, groups, organizations out there that can and will help you. All it takes is picking up the phone and asking for help. There are people who want to listen and who want to help. I'm no expert on this subject however, I am just learning myself but I can tell you it is happening everyday all around us, and it is sooo devastating to friends and family. So please, pay attention, be aware, and never be afraid to ask for help. I probably cannot solve your problem but I can listen and point out resources to help you in these dark times. Together, we can all survive and thrive!💜;;

September is Su***de Prevention and Awareness Month. September 7-13 is Su***de Prevention Week, and the World Health Organization has declared September 10th World Su***de Prevention Day--a worldwide initiative to spread awareness about su***de.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICAN LEGION POST 4- just want to invite all our families to come out to the American Legion post 4 in Fort Collins, Colorado at 2PM for their 100 year Birthday Celebration on May 15, 2021. Little Legends Miniature Horses will be out there providing emotional support and su***de awareness to our vets, their family's and our community. There will be LIVE MUSIC, GAMES, PRIZES, CRAFTS, and EVEN A LIVE EAGLE FOR PHOTO OPPS. WE'VE MISSED YOU ALL AND HOPE TO SEE YOU ON SATURDAY!

ON ANOTHER NOTE:
I'd like to take a moment to apologize for my absence. Just as we were hoping to start launching programs, covid hit. This was devastating for ALL! 2020-'21 has been a roller coaster ride to say the least. It started with losing my financial aid for school (apparently they will only help you pay for so many credits, and seeing I already have an associate's and a couple certifications, I am no longer eligible, so I'm no longer attending), THEN COVID HIT (well we all know what happened after that), the summer/fall brought traumatic events concerning my grandkids, and just a few wks ago, I lost my best friend to su***de (how ironic)! Anyway, I'm not telling you this for sympathy, only to say I'm sorry for not being here. Im not sure where Little Legends future lies, life has seemed to drag everyone in a different direction, funny how just when you think you have it all figured out, you find out, you don't! I guess only God and time will tell what the future holds for this Little Legends program but if/when anything changes, we will be sure to let you know! I want to thank everyone who has been follwing us and let you know, we love you, we support you, and we're always here for you NO MATTER WHAT! You are not alone! Please, reach out to the people you love, let them help you through the lows as well as the highs. Be kind and supportive of one another. Don't ignore the signs and warnings of depression and above all, ask for professional help BEFORE it's too late!! Your family and friends, they love you and need you, more than you could ever know, ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT!!!

Dusty Gadsby describes himself as a “47-year-old farm boy that’s 4th generation in the farm and agriculture business.” However, it was his love of Detroit Diesel Engines that drove Dusty’s initial career path when he started in the trucking business at the age of 18. “I’ve still got all my Chevron ‘Diesels Love Delo’ buttons and swag from truck events I went to in the '80s.” The other passion in Dusty’s life? Miniature horses. For over 25 years, Dusty’s family has raised these horses, many of which have become therapy animals for children, seniors and veterans. “The one standing next to me in the photo … that’s Horseshoe. He’s 24 years old and the love of my life. The horse inside the pickup is Arby and he works in equine-assisted therapy.” To transport the horses to different locations, Dusty relies on his '98 Chevy Dually, which he has run with Delo oil since day one. “I’ve been running that truck on Delo since the day I got it. It’s the best oil out there.”
