Okay , this is gonna be a very long post , so please bear with me.. As most of you know I got Annie 12-6-25. I got her with severe laminatis. We had x rays done 12-15-25. The x rays were not good , but we put her on a couple different medicines and special shoes . Yesterday annie had her recheck appointment. It was very apparent that things had taken a turn for the worst and annie's coffin bone was about to come through the bottom of her foot , she had more rotation and she had sunk more. This was devastating news , and I discussed annie's options with doctor Black.
1. We continue on the course that we are doing with annie's meds and special shoes
2. We put Annie into surgery , cut the tendon and stop the rotation and hope it gets better.
3.put her down.
After discussing it with doctor black , he explained that annie had a very slim chance of getting better , less than a thirty percent chance. I left the clinic very heartbroken and made the call to doctor claiborne to put Annie down today at noon. I had such an unsettling feeling about this decision
After making that decision and making that call , I talk to several people including my farrier Dwight adams Adams Quarter Horses my freind Gaylene Lant Kara Lutjens Dr. Clayborn., and my .mom Sandy Hake . Matt Harris After talking with everyone I just felt like I made the wrong decision. I can't do it. I can't give up on her. I called and canceled the appointment with doctor Clayborn. I prayed about it and asked God for a sign.Anything . This morning I walked into the barn and Annie was standing up in her stall facing me , this had not happened in a week and a half. For the past week and a half , she's been laying down every time I go in the barn , I took this as my sign. Doctor black explained to me this morning. This is going to be a very long road, a very hard road, and annie does not have much of a chance that she will come out of this. But the way I look at it is she still has a chance , and there's something about this little pony that I just can't give up on her. So today I will take annie back down to nebraska equine , where she will be hospitalized. We will move forward with a very different kind of shoe , a wooden clog. They will put that on tomorrow , and she will also get die , put die nto her hooves to find out blood flow and see if we do have a chance of making this work. Please pray for Annie please. I know most of you don't know her but I do. and I can tell you.She is the sweetest pony on earth. But you have to see her to know just how sweet she is. My main concern is keeping any comfortable and giving her the best shot she can have. Please I ask you all for prayers for her. This is going to be a very long road for annie , with no guarantee of a good outcome. It' is going to take alot of work i just feel this little pony deserves a chance. I have had many people ask if I could post my venmo for them to help annie. I'm not good at asking for help but Annie needs us and please if you want to come meet her when she gets out of the hospital please do. You will see what I have saw from the beginning. If you can help Annie please consider donating I will send a message to anyone who donates and wants to see the hospital bills for her i have no problem showing them. My venmo is -Hake thank you everyone' for your support 💗
