"Just wanted to reach out to thank you for choosing my family to adopt Royce. One year ago today (Gotcha Day) this sweet baby angel came into our lives and we could not be happier. He celebrated his birthday in May and is six years old. He dislikes walks, fireworks, when we do not share our food with him, getting his tail fold cleaned and fire alarms. He loves to sleep, eat, cuddle, play in the yard, go in the car and lots of treats. He has brought such joy and love to our family and I thank you again.

Say hello to Freckles! Freckles does not like other dogs . She is an athletic 3 year Olde English Bulldog . She is playful and knows sit and to give paw and is crate trained. She is a solid bigger girl (as standard with the olde English )and will need someone who is used to training to help her work on boundaries (jumping, rambunctiousness) . Meet the newest addition to the MidAtlantic Bulldog Rescue family!!

Mocha is a sweet 5-6 year old female who weighs approximately 60lbs. She is healthy, house trained, and has a loving personality that makes her an ideal companion for humans of all ages.

Currently, she's being treated for an ear infection, but she's a champ with her medications and ear cleanings!

Mocha loves car rides and snuggling up with her favorite humans.

She would thrive in a home as the only dog.

She has not been tested with cats.

Remember Cole, the 8 year old who was minutes away from euthanasia? He is now Reggie, living his best life ever!!! We are forever grateful to Amber, Rich & Ryan for giving him the love & care he deserved ❤️

Just popping in to give an update about our beloved Reggie, he is acclimating so well. He has learned our schedules and learning how to be a family member. He is gaining a little more confidence and not as easily startled. He still has not barked but it's evident that he is trusting us and knows we are his people. He had his first beach day which he was just happy to be with us and afraid of the ocean. He is still extremely food driven and has now started to chase the wild bunnies(we have a nest of bunnies under our shed). He is still super curious about the chickens but doesn't really do anything other than watch them. His fur is coming in beautifully and the crust on his nose is starting to flake off. He also looks to be gaining weight as he has eggs every morning for breakfast (he eats better than me most mornings). Again, I am forever grateful for him. Here's pics from his big day at the beach. "Hazel came into our lives June of 2023. We fell in love with her as soon as we met her. Hazel quickly became our love love & totally fit in with all humans & pets. Although we were only privileged to have Hazel for a year, Cass & I were totally blessed to have her in our lives. Hazel passe away Friday night on her 7th birthday. She will be sorely missed."

Welcome handsome Capone!
Estimated to be less than 2 years old, this cutie was rescued out of Fairfax County shelter in VA. He is a sweetheart, appears to be crated trained, a bit of food resource guarding. He was good in the car, find with his bath, knows a few commands. He is very food motivated which makes administering his eye meds a bit easier than normal. We will assess him with other dogs. 🙂 Excellent ophthalmic medical documentation! The shelter could not get his medications in his eyes, with the food he was a bit mouthy but he will be fine once he is feeling better. He is scheduled for neuter 7/31 & being fostered in Woodbridge, VA.

Greta is fully potty trained, loves to play with toys, car rides, and being around her loved ones.
Greta’s past has been rather unfortunate so as a direct result she needs an experienced bulldog owner. In addition, she needs to be an only dog.
Greta needs to find her forever home right away- she needs a stable environment, where her mom and dad can dedicate the time and energy into showing her that it’s ok to relax and be a couch potato. Greta has the tendency to get overwhelmed by new people, so slow pace and dedication are a MUST.
A fenced in backyard is preferred but not necessary.

I was living alone for the first time in many years and decided to look into getting a dog. I had owned two bulldogs in the past and started my search for a rescue. I was lucky to find Cathy Kittell who runs a bulldog rescue group in New Jersey. So before I tell you about my experience, let me say that if you're looking for a rescue dog in New Jersey, please call her. You'll be rewarded with a wonderful companion.

I was on the list for quite awhile as Cathy is very thorough in her vetting process. She called me to say a dog had come available and needed a home. She sent me a pic and I was in love with Archie from second one. I made arrangements to pick him at a very crowded rest area on the Garden State Parkway in Toms River. I've told this story to my friends a hundred times. I had a description of the owners car and was driving up and down aisles trying to spot them. There were two cars in front of me when I spotted the car and they spotted me. The car in front of me was waiting for a parking spot so I just put my car in park and opened the door. The owner opened the rear hatch of her car. Archie and I locked eyes on each other and he leapt out of their car and onto my front seat. The owner handed me a bag of dog food and we were on our way before the lady in front of me got her parking spot. I took him home and we immediately got into a routine. I could walk him without a leash and he would come back to me just saying his name once. I could let him out in the morning and I would watch him walk the border of the property, never go out of bounds, and come back and lay on the stoop. He slept on my couch on one end, I was on the other. At 9pm, he would tap me so we could go to bed. He would sleep at the foot of my bed and never, ever wake me until I put my feet on the floor. I had an RV and traveled the country with him. He loved loved loved the ocean. He never had an accident in my house until he started to fall ill a month ago. Then he started to lose weight and he just never got better. I kept putting off the inevitable until I knew I couldn't let him suffer anymore.

I said good bye to my best friend, my boyfriend in the vets office. It's been a week today. I still wake up and look for him before I put my feet on the floor. I can't wash his bed yet because I can still smell him. I keep his harness in my bag for the same reason and I don't care what people think. I woke up this morning and cried until my eyes hurt.

It's hard to find unconditional love in this world and Archie brought that to me. He drooled on everything. If there was dirt to roll in, he found it. Food dropped out of his jowls all over my floor. I didn't care about any of that. I loved that dog like nothing else in my life and I am going to miss him forever. For those of you old enough to remember The Bowery Boys from the 1930s, you might remember Terence J. Mahoney, the leader of the gang. Archie had the same kind of strut when he walked and we called him Archibald J. Mahoney.

Update on Cole (now Reggie)

We have some pawsitively delightful news about Cole (now Reggie), the senior OEB who was just hours away from being euthanized before MidAtlantic Bulldog Rescue stepped in to save the day.

Reggie has found his forever home and is thriving in the loving care of his new family.

Reggie is head over paws in love with his fur sister, Lovey. While Reggie adores Lovey, he seems to be more aloof towards the chickens. He prefers to focus his attention on his furry sibling, leaving the chickens to their clucking adventures.

In addition to being a loving companion, Reggie has proven himself to be an exemplary good boy. He has successfully mastered the art of house training and hasn't had a single accident indoors.

Reggie's affectionate nature shines through, as he sticks to his family like a Velcro dog. He cherishes every moment spent with his loved ones and is bringing happiness to their lives!

His new family recently sent us the most heartwarming email, expressing their gratitude and love for this boy.
Here are some quotes from their touching message:
"He is the family member we didn't know we needed."
"Reggie is the sweetest dog we have ever known."
"He has already become the king of our home, and everyone, including Lovey, adores him."
"Reggie will only be treated with the loving gentleness he has always deserved."

Reggie's story is a testament to the power of rescue organizations who work tirelessly to save the lives of precious animals in need. We are overjoyed to witness Reggie's transformation from a dog in distress to a cherished member of a loving family.

Hi everybully, my name is Fiona! I am overjoyed to be the newest addition to the MidAtlantic Family!

I've recently found my foster home, and let me tell you, it's pawsome! My foster mom is
amazing and she's taking such good care of me.

When I first arrived, I wasn't feeling too good, so my foster mom took me to the Dogtor yesterday. And guess what? Everyone there absolutely adored me! + they treated me with love and care, and after careful examination, they discovered that l had a UTI. But no worries, thanks to the proper treatment, I'm already feeling much better!

I can't express how grateful I am for my new family. They've welcomed me with open arms and showered me with love.

I'm one lucky pup to have found such a loving and caring foster home. I can't wait to create countless memories with them!

Well, on Wednesday we received Gladys’s biopsy results. Sadly both tumors were grade 2 malignant mammary tumors with some metastasis. We are grateful she feels great and is happy. She knows she is loved and safe. We have decided it’s best for her to stay with us as a hospice foster. I’m hopeful we will have lots of time with her and make some wonderful memories along the way 💜
