We now have confirmed cases of flu - based on positive cultures from the lab. Please keep your pets at home if not vaccinated. We will have vaccines available from time to time based on availability from the manufacturers. Please call to schedule your pets flu shot today.

If your pet is showing any signs, please keep them home. We do not recommend boarding your pet, doggy daycare, parks, social meetings, etc until your pet is vaccinated. Especially if your pet has underlying disease such as heart disease, diabetes, to name a few. Geriatric dogs and short-nosed dogs (bulldog, pugs, etc) are more suspectible to the flu and complications such as pneumonia.

We are seeing a lot of cases daily of what is suspected canine influenza. Please keep your pets at home. We are seeing it from kennels, daycares, neighborhoods, dog parks, etc.

There is a vaccine, but it has been unavailable for many weeks to months. We will have limited quantities of the vaccine as it becomes available. Please call us to inquire about vaccinating your pet and to see if we have it available. The initial series is two injection 3 weeks apart, then a booster yearly.

If your pet is coughing please keep them at home, isolated from other dogs for at least 2 weeks. Please call us if your pet is coughing, and we will have them seen/treated. Many pets are developing pneumonia from this, something we do not see often. Call us at 704-827-0616

Thousands of dogs in the area have already had it and it can progress into something more dangerous like pneumonia.
