Koda came in and shared her wonderfully wiggly puppy energy with us, inspite of a neck wound she recieved roughhousing with her older sister. We were able to work around the wiggles, get wound cleaned up, and sent Koda home with some medication to prevent infection and a fancy bandage to keep her from scratching her owie spots. We hope she heals quickly and doesn't let her puppy antics get her into trouble again anytime soon!

Celebrate National Walk Your Dog Month!

You don’t need to go on a long, overwhelming journey. Just grab a leash and take a walk around your neighborhood.

But if you are in the mood for an adventure, please remember to bring plenty of water for you and your pet, don’t forget rest breaks, and make sure to keep your pet on a leash to avoid unexpected wildlife encounters. This handsome mug found out the hard way that trying to drift mid-zoomies can be hazardous! Amos came in with a torn toenail sustained in high stakes game of ball (don't you worry, the ball did not escape)! We were able to clean up the injury, bandage the foot, give Amos a pedicure, a fancy new neck accessory and some pain medication so we hope he'll be back to zooming around the house again soon!

Double Chocolate Double Trouble! These two mischief makers wanted to get in on their human's birthday celebration today by eating an entire double-chocolate birthday cake! 🍫 🎂 🍫 Their family gave us a call and we were able to see them right away to help get the chocolate out of their tummies.
We hope these two learned their lesson and will give their human a nicer birthday present next year! Feel better soon Bogart and Louis!

This handsome boy came to visit us because his potty dance wasn't working. No matter how much Elvis wiggled and jiggled his bladder wouldn't let things go. We were able to pass a catheter to collect a urine sample and found some nasty bacteria that were causing Elvis' pain and discomfort. We started Elvis on some medication to fight the infection and ease his discomfort. We hope he starts feeling better and is back to full potty dance power soon!

Sweet Lilly came to see us after having an allergic reaction to a new medication.
We were able to quickly get some diphenhydramine in her via injection as well as a steroid to stop the reaction before it got too bad.
Despite not feeling the best this little girl was an absolute doll and so loving and sweet!

We hope you're feeling better today Lilly, you're welcome to pay us a visit just to say Hi any time 😊😉

The holiday season is always full of surprises and touching stories, but this particular one warmed the hearts of our team. This past Thanksgiving, Jenn, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and one of her Girl Scouts, Anita, entered our clinic with a feral cat. Anita had been caring for this furry friend, who had made her neighborhood its home for the past three years. One evening, she called Jenn desperately seeking help after she discovered that her furry friend had been attacked and was near death.

Jenn sprang into action, bringing Anita and Ember into UrgentVet Cary, NC. She was prepared to have the difficult conversation with Anita, explaining that the cat might not survive the attack. Thanks to the UrgentVet Cary team, Ember is almost fully recovered! Jenn reports that Anita has been doing an amazing job looking after him and his wound as he continues to recover at her house.

Anita was prepared to sacrifice all the money her mom had saved for her Christmas presents to save Ember’s life. While Jenn had the resources to help, and our team had the means to save Ember, we knew this story didn’t end there.

The team at UrgentVet Cary was so touched by Anita’s dedication this animal in-need, that they rewarded her with a $300 gift card. We hope she continues to nurture her love for animals, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things Anita will do in the future!
