Saturday morning started with an unexpected visitor - this stunning owl was waiting at our front door before we even opened! 🦉 While we’re passionate about all animals, UrgentVet clinics are specially equipped to treat cats and dogs only. Exotic pets like birds, reptiles, and small mammals need species-specific care and medications.

Thankfully, we were able to safely bring this feathered friend inside and quickly got in touch with the Carolina Raptor Center. Their amazing team arrived shortly after to provide the specialized help he needed, and he’s now on his way to recovery and eventual release back into the wild.

Happy Easter from Hodor! Even staff pets aren't excluded from needing help.

Hodor is one of our UrgentVet team member's dogs who had an injury on his foot, our team was able to quickly get him taken care of and on the road to recovery! This gentle giant was such a good boy for a very scary injury, we're all so very thankful for the quick actions of the staff and helping keep his mom calm and collected when she was worried about her big boy!

Koda was such a well behaved little boy for his visit with us. He hurt his paw and was so good while we were cleaning it up for him, he got to go home with some pain medications and anti-inflammatories to help him recover. We hope you're feeling better Koda!

Bean was such a good boy despite having an allergic reaction, he was so well behaved and let our care team at UrgentVet do what was necessary to help him feel better! This handsome fella was able to be quickly treated with injectable diphenhydramine and steroids to stop the reaction from getting worse and was already feeling better by the time he left!

Yesterday, our team at UrgentVet Mckinney had the solemn honor of providing care for K9 Officer Azi, a devoted partner who gave his life in the line of duty. Azi was a hero, a protector, and a beloved member of the McKinney Police Department.

Our hearts go out to Azi’s handler, fellow officers, and all who knew and loved him. His dedication and bravery will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, K9 Officer Azi. You were deeply loved, and your service will always be remembered. It was a privilege to care for you.

The McKinney Police Department has released an official statement regarding the officer-involved shooting that occurred on March 13, 2025, at the Red Roof Inn on 1300 North Central Expressway.

The investigation remains active and has been turned over to the Texas Rangers. There is no ongoing threat to the public.
