In this video we are working with a Shepard who has a huge herding drive.
By practicing around a smaller stimulus, we are promoting trust between dog and owner. This allows them to work together in a safe environment before introducing a larger trigger for the dog.
Desensitization work is one of my favorite things to do with clients. It’s something I do with my own dogs to continue to promote trust and reliability in training.

A calm voice also portrays that everyone is happy and relaxed. Save your big praise and petting for the end to let your dog know they did a great job ❤️

Look Who Graduated 👩🎓It was a true joy to watch Maya transform into a happy, confident girl! Maya had a hard time letting go of control. Her severe resource guarding and need to control everything in her environment, led her to be an anxious dog. Throughout my time with her I witnessed progress with each lesson. Seeing her graduate was amazing and made me so happy. Her owner dedicated to leading Maya in a way that would help her relax and gain confidence in knowing she no longer had to worry about other animals and high value items around her. Maya has a wonderful life full of hikes and play time. It is always rewarding to be able to help people who truly love their dog and work hard to achieve a peaceful life with them 💞

Coming from an assumed history of dog fighting, Ludlow struggled with extreme dog aggression. When we first started, the sight of another dog even 100+ feet would send him into a spiral or shaking, snapping, barking ext.
I am so proud of all the work his owne has put in to help Ludlow achieve a calm state of mind. I have watched him gain confindence, excel in obedience, and really come out of his shell since we first got him started in a Behavioral Program.
Hard work and dedicating to the process sure pays off! Ludlow has graduated 🙌🏻
We will continue to have periodic tune up sessions to keep the positive change going!
