Meet our Trainer:

Channing's passion for training dogs started with a young Cavapoo she trained for her neighbor. She taught the dog basic obedience and even created a homemade agility course. She continued to work with the dog until the owner moved away. Channing also grew up hearing about her uncle training his dogs in the sport of Schutzhund, now called IPG/IPO. Channing dreamed of one day competing in that sport as well. In 2001 Channing found a new love for horses and began helping out at a local barn. She also showed at local shows until she had an accident in 2011. In 2016, Channing got her first dog, Gabriel, and trained him with the guidance of a local trainer Jeremy Rinehart. Despite Gabriel's passing in 2018, Channing's love for training dogs continues to this day.

Channing has a wealth of experience working with dogs, having worked at various dog companies since 2012. Her roles have included taking care of dogs at vet clinics, assisting with appointments and grooming, supervising doggie daycare, and caring for boarding dogs. She has also worked at dog training companies and volunteered at a dog grooming salon. With her extensive experience, Channing is well-equipped to provide top-notch care for dogs in any setting.

Channing's personal experience with having a Service Dog inspired her to take action and others in need. She recognized that the high cost of obtaining a service dog is a barrier for many people and decided to learn how to train them herself and offer them at a cost people could afford. Channing's dedication to always learning led her to learn how to train service dogs for a variety of disabilities, including PTSD, light mobility, psychiatric, and migraine alert. Her goal was to make service dogs more accessible to those who needed them most, including veterans, first responders, and people with disabilities.

Channing is a dedicated trainer who believes in the importance continuous learning and improvement. She is committed to expanding her knowledge and staying up to date with the latest training methods to provide the best possible service to her clients.

Channing's accomplishments:
- Certified a dog for SARDUS Cadaver K-9, Level III/IV - land
- Certified multiple dogs in Do More with Your Dog Trick titles novice, intermediate, and advanced.

Certifications:

Our personal dog K9 Hero is a certified cadaver K9 for Search and Rescue.

This podcast with our director of our team, Kansas Search and Rescue Dog Association. She explains how we receive call outs and what all is involved with a search. As a handler our goal is to find the missing person whether they are alive or have passed away. We want to bring closure to families. This is a 100% volunteer job, our team is a 501c3

We got into search and rescue because of the local case of Kara Kopetsky. Learning about that case and how the dogs helped identify Kara is what sparked the want to help families bring their loved ones home with our dogs. We feel that the dogs are an exceptional asset to help find people, they can do things us humans cannot.

This job is a selfless and thankless job at times but I wouldn't stop for anything. I know when I deploy on a search I know a family might get closure in one way or another and that always reminds me of why I got into search and rescue in the first place. Sometimes we go on searches and don't find anything but that helps law enforcement rule out locations for their cases.

Fun fact, the oldest remains Hero has indicated on was approximately 135 years old from a clandestine grave site from a flooding. He has also indicated on odor that was 30-40 feet deep in a lake at 6 months of age.

Summer is approaching!

We offer Drop In Pet Sitting services.

This is great if you want to leave your pups at home instead of boarding them at a big facility when you go out of town or have a busy schedule and can't be home to let the dogs out. We would drop in throughout the day and evening to let your pup out to go potty, play, and/or go for a walk.
