IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please - If you find a bird, NEVER put water in it's mouth. The little hole you can see at the back of this birds tongue is their airway. One wrong drop in there, and the bird aspirates, meaning it drowns. They can't cough the water back up, and it's a horrible death.
Baby birds get all their moisture from the food the parents feed them.
If you find an adult bird that is dehydrated, offer it some water to drink by itself, or you can dip a cotton bud in water, and wipe the tiniest bit down the side of their beak, making sure you avoid the nostrils.
People are messaging me saying they've syringed water in to a birds mouth. This is usually a death sentence, and the bird goes downhill over the next few hours.
If you find a baby bird, keep it warm. If they don't have full feathers, they need a gentle heat source. They can't make their own body heat. NEVER feed a cold bird. Their digestive system stops when cold, and this also results more often than not, in the bird dying slowly.
Warmth is key.

Water 911. I’ve gotten three calls this week for wildlife so dehydrated they collapsed in yards. I advised each person to set Water down. All three animals recovered without needing rehabilitation efforts. PLEASE set water out, shallow bowls up high and low, placed in shade near bushes or trees (to help stop predator attacks). Provide fresh water a minimum of three days a week to help wildlife survive this heat and dry weather

BE INFORMED…… Don’t impulse buy.

Paw It Forward’s 10 𝙩𝙞𝙥𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝘽𝙤𝙬 𝙊𝙣 𝙄𝙩 🎁

Before you impulse buy a puppy for a gift, call me. Make your Decision based on rational logical choices. I will help you compartmentalize to make the right decision.

1. Your bow tied fuzzy is a 10-15+ year commitment with all the expenses including training, grooming, vetting, boarding, and surgeries & recoveries. Know this.

2. The adult owner’s choices are responsible for the dog’s behavior, always. Own it. Training will help you make the right choices.

3. Crate training is a must and non-negotiable. Don’t get caught up in the fairies and rainbows experts. You’ll regret it.

4. Know the genetics. Even hard core breeds can do well as pets when they come from GOOD genetica. Bad genetics are difficult to clean up, even with training.

5. Puppies do NOT need 100% free roam, lots of dogs, people and over socialization. They need you. Over expose, and enjoy a dog that pays no attention to you.

6. Ask yourself ahead of time, is anyone going to be allergic? Expecting a baby? Planning on moving? Live in a no pets allowed apartment? Works long hours? Already has a dog reactive dog? These are the “reasons” dogs are given up RIGHT AFTER THE NEW YEAR. Plan ahead.

7. Know the breed traits.There’s lots of breed information available online. Know the pros and cons for your lifestyle. For example, a border collie or cattle dog may not make a good family companion with kids. That Cane Corso isn’t going to be stranger friendly.

8. Drop the “my puppy must love everything and everyone” expectations. Most dogs are selective. It’s normal.

9. Steer clear of MOST free roam only daycares. They will expect your puppy to never defend itself, never growl, never nip and love everyone and everything. All of this, without proper evaluation. This sets up dogs to bully or be bullied as the “norm. It’s a breeding ground for dog reactivity. If not me, Let me refer you to a good one in the area.

10. The leash is your friend. You are responsible for controlling movement. What you allow to happen wlll happen. Bad behavior is YOUR choice to allow.

Research! Adopt safe adoptable dogs or invest in a good reputable breeder and good training now to save you a lot of money and heartache later. I’m here to help 🐾

💔 It is with a heavy heart we have to inform you that the Ringtail cat passed away. Dr. Wolf warned us last night that Bromethalin is a nasty rodenticide, with a 10% survival rate, depending on when it was ingested.

We took this sweet photo of him about an hour before he passed. Don’t let his short life be in vain. When you know better, you do better.

Reach out to your local Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for natural ways to deter rodents or ask to be placed on a release site list for rodent predators.

Luna is a 9 month old, spayed, beautiful German Shepherd. She is lively and her positivity is contagious. She did well in a meet and greet with another dog. Although she’s young, energetic, and playful she’s a calmer dog for her age. She’s intelligent and would be a fantastic candidate for training so she could exercise her body and mind. Luna is looking for a special human to make a life long connection with. Her adoption fee is $25.

Hey everyone, quick update.

We recently pulled 9 cats from euthanasia at the shelter, they broke the following day with Limping Calici. We are working very hard on treating everyone aggressively. Thank you to Aztec Pet Hospital for fitting the kitties into their busy day. We’ve been struggling with convincing the shelter to vaccinate on intake to reduce the suffering and loss of lives and have healthier animals leaving the shelter.

This is putting us in the hole about $900 right now, isolation is currently full with kitties who we picked up from TNR who just recovered from URI, our nursery is now housing sick cats. We have 6 kittens and who are at minimal risk (previously vaccinated but not full sets)

PLEASE stop trapping cats without a plan, please stop calling me and telling me to take kittens or else.

Just so everyone’s clear, I get that there’s misinformation and people aren’t educated on the matter. I’m not an employee, I’m the opposite. My financial struggles are because of the rescue, the credit card abuse, I do have a full time job and I have to put it first or we’ll be in real trouble.

Chewy blocked again
it is going to require surgery … and special food and constant monitoring for the rest of his life with highly likely it will reoccur
