We can’t believe someone hasn’t snatched up DJ and Liberty yet!! These two senior girls would love to find a nice quiet home for Christmas. They both are okay with being picked up, potty outside, love everyone they meet, and beg for attention!🥰

The ideal home is one without other dogs, but we would be willing to do a meet and greet with other dogs if needed. We’re not sure how they are with cats. They must stay together! DJ (top left) is 14 years old, and Liberty is 7. Schedule an appointment to meet them on our website!❤️

Meet our dog and cat of the week, Riggs🐶 and Siri🐱!

Meet Riggs! He is such a sweet and loving boy who gets along great with everyone he meets. He loves kids, great with cats, and great with dogs (meet and greets with other dogs still required). He loves car rides, walks well on a leash, and loves playing with hard toys. He will need a fenced in yard, or someone to be able to supervise him at all times outside. He is such a perfect dog!

Meet Siri! After having a litter of kittens (who have all found homes) she is ready to find a new home of her own. She’s a super sweet and affectionate girl, who loves to play with toys. In fact, she like to carry toys around in her mouth like a dog! Siri doesn’t seem to mind other cats, we’re unsure about dogs.

Our hunky boy Thor has sadly gotten the title of our longest resident, being in our care since early August. He is about 2 years old, neutered and up to date on vaccines. Thor is fantastic with everyone he meets, kids and adults!❤️

He loves a good b***y scratch, playing with toys, going for walks (he walks wonderfully on a leash!), going for car rides, wearing pajamas, and taking naps. He has done fine with a few female dogs, but his best home would be one with no other pets.

Thor also has skin allergies and will get a rash if he eats turkey, rabbit, chicken, beef, salmon, wheat, and milk. These allergies are super easy to manage, as there are lots of treats and food options that don’t include these ingredients.

We received so many generous donations yesterday🥰 The first photo is from Northwest MN Association of Realtors after they held an ugly sweater event to help raise funds and donations for us! The second photo is from Bemidji Eagles Auxiliary after choosing us as the organization to make donations too! Thank you to both of these wonderful organizations for their support, we appreciate it so much!💙💚

‼️We need help!‼️
Our transportation van, a crucial component in our daily life at the shelter, was recently rear ended and is not safely drivable. We’re unsure when we will be able to get it to a mechanic, so we’re in desperate need of a temporary solution. Without a transportation vehicle, we’re unable to bring pets to the vets, rescue animals, and so much more. If someone has a spare vehicle that would be able to fit a large dog kennel (preferably hatchback), good in the winter, and with working heat (this is a must for our shelter pets!) that we would be able to use, please let us know ASAP!

Riggs

Riggs is a fantastic dog, and loves everyone he meets. He is great with kids, dogs (meet and greets still required), and cats, loves car rides, and walks very well on a leash. Riggs is a bit of an escape artist, so he needs a fenced in yard or someone to supervise him outside. Riggs will make a wonderful companion!

These two sweet girls are the best little dogs anyone could ask for! They love everyone they meet. We’re not sure how they would be with cats, but they do not like other dogs. They are freshly groomed (and handled it extremely well!), ride well in the car, and are okay with being picked up.

❗️Thor needs treats!❗️
Thor, our longest resident, is COMPLETELY out of treats that he’s able to have! Thor has skin allergies so he is unable to eat salmon, chicken, beef, rabbit, corn, milk, wheat, and turkey. This poor guy! We’ve included some examples of treats that he is able to have, and we know there’s some more out there suitable for him. All dogs deserve treats, any and all help is appreciated!😊

Venus is absolutely fantastic with children and everyone she meets. She does good with cats, but her best home is one with no other dogs as she likes all of the attention to be on her. She is an extremely cuddly, goofy, and affectionate pup who loves car rides, walks, runs, and playtime. Venus was born in our care in early 2024 and has returned due to no fault of her own.
