The Angel-Yogi MH puppies are almost 3 weeks old. They are actively teething and personalities are just starting to come out. All are very sweet, curious and down right adorable!

The milk comas have set in! Angel loves to sleep and snuggle with her puppies. This is the normal scene after everyone has filled their tummies.

Happy New Year from the week and a half old Angel-Yogi puppies. They are all doing very well and growing quickly. Angel is an amazing mama.

I apologize for the delay in posting as I have been a bit under the weather. Today was going to be picture day, but some of the puppies are in the process of opening their eyes. So we will wait until all of their eyes are fully open. Guess it means videos instead for now!

Merry Christmas everyone from all of us here at Bird Dog Labs! We are enjoying a pretty quiet day today.

The official final count for Angel's litter is 3 chocolate males, 3 chocolate females, 4 black males and 1 black female. With it being Christmas, I will begin calling families tomorrow.

The last 48 hours have been extremely long and stressful to say the least. Yet, I am also so very thankful. We are just now getting home from doing an emergency cesarean. Angel just did not progress normally. There was nothing specific that indicated a true emergency until she began having hard contractions. She had hard contractions for 2 hours without producing a puppy and I couldn't feel anything in the birth canal. It was only after that the ER vet agreed to do a cesarean. So in we went. Angel and all 11 robust puppies are doing well. I am so tired I haven't even checked the sex/color count beyond 6 chocolates and 5 blacks. It is finally time for a shower and some rest.

So we just got back home from the vet. Angel is having a very long 1st stage of labor. With it being 24 hours, I was getting concerned. So, I brought her in just to make sure all was okay. Her little duckies are just taking their time getting lined up. Oh and we are expecting approximately 10 to 12 of them!

Angel says it is finally time! She doesn't know that she is right on schedule. It still may be hours before the puppies arrive, but Angel is definitely in the first stage of labor. Temperature has dropped, trembling, panting off and on, refusing to eat and she has went into the box to lay down on her own. Even with all this, Angel is still such a sweet and happy girl.

Smores has always been a people focused puppy and loves being a part of everything that is going on. He is very interactive and playful! Smores is very confident, curious and outgoing. Smores tends to be more of a leader than a follower. Smores was one of the escape artists from the whelping box and would go well out of his way to find wherever the people were. He is just so happy that his tail just doesn’t stop wagging! Smores loves the wings, toys and soft bumpers. He tends to be a little show off with whatever trophy he has obtained. He also will strut right on over to me and give me his trophies. Smores is a higher energy type of puppy and is usually one of the first to start and last to stop playing. Even with that he still likes to take breaks. Smores loves to get his cuddle time and definitely has strong natural on/off to him. He has outstanding eye contact and teamwork type of attitude. He really does try to connect with people. Smores definitely has all the energy and drive to play any type of game/competition (hunting, hunt tests, SRS, etc) and still be an outstanding companion! Smores also has all of the traits needed in a puppy to make a rockstar Search and Rescue Dog too! I have placed many puppies successfully in SAR homes and wouldn’t hesitate to place him in one. Smores is an incredible little boy and there is just something about him that makes him stand out. Smores will turn 8 weeks on November 25th and can join his new home at that time. With it being a holiday week, we are happy to hold onto him until after Thanksgiving festivities and will flexible on pick up dates.

We are very excited about this absolutely beautiful litter! We researched for a very long time before deciding on SRSACC 2xSRSAC HRCH Feliciana Geaux Big or Go Home MH QAA “Rip” as the stud for Molly’s final litter. We attempted to make this litter a reality a couple of times without success. Early in 2024 when we brought Molly down to Louisiana, we were even more impressed by Rip in person. So when she didn’t take from that breeding, I made some adjustments to ensure correct timing this time and drove her back down to Louisiana. To say we have high hopes for these puppies is an understatement. Theses puppies were selectively bred to be excellent hunting dogs, hunt test dogs and wonderful family companions. They also show potential for therapy and service work. These puppies have an outstanding pedigree and come from extensively health tested parents. They are bred to be the TOTAL package!

We are proud to be an AKC Breeder of Merit as well as Bred with H.E.A.R.T. Breeder. All of our puppies are born and raised in our home! We focus on producing quality dogs and giving them the best start possible. Our puppy program is extensive and comprehensive. We do early neurological stimulation (ENS) and early scent introduction (ESI) between days 3 and 16. After that we have designed a proven program that builds confidence, social skills and addresses the key developmental stages that all puppies experience. Our puppies are introduced to wings/birds, various types of textures, gunfire from a distance, daily home noises, obstacle courses, adventure walks in various terrains, introduced to water, introduced to crates, car rides, potty training concepts and are thoroughly socialization with adults, children and safe dogs of various ages. All of our puppies are loved and handled individually every day. We pay attention to the details and it shows. Dew claws are removed, preventative deworming x3, 1st round of vaccinations, microchipped, and an individual wellness exam at 6 weeks and health certificate from licensed veterinarian. Our puppies are sold with limited registration, but it is written in the contract that can be changed to full after official hip, elbow and eye clearances are obtained. Our puppies come with a 30-month written hip/eye health guarantee and lifetime genetic disease guarantee to never affected by the genetic diseases we test for. Our puppies also come with lifetime breeder support. Lots of references available.

This beautiful blocky boy is a total ham! He is very sweet, people-focused and tends to be very animated and enthusiastic! You cannot resist smiling or laughing when he is up to his antics. Lucky is a confident boy that tends to jump right in. New places and obstacles don’t bother him. He is a curious, happy boy that just enjoys life. Lucky is not a dominant puppy of the litter, nor is he a submissive puppy. He tends to be right in the middle of the litter dynamics. When it comes to the wings, toys or soft bumpers, he seems to enjoy them all. Lucky likes to strut around when he is carrying them around. He is definitely a smart boy. Sometimes he brings them over to me on his own and other times he likes to come by me and lay down with them. Lucky is very affectionate and interactive. He seeks out people no matter if he is fresh with energy, taking a break or getting tired. Lucky seems to have a very nice natural on/off to him already. Lucky tends to play hard, but also seems very chill at times. Lucky has shown a tendency to be more aware of the people around him and will go out of his way to connect. Talk about awesome eye contact! Lucky is one of the more respectful puppies of the litter and will often just come and sit looking at me for attention without being pushy. Lucky is the kind of puppy that can truly go any direction. He has plenty of drive and energy to be a hunting or hunt test companion. Yet he also has such a calm, intuitive and adaptive side, that I can easily see him doing therapy or service work.
