Benbrook Stables Horse Camp

Benbrook Stables Equestrian Camp focuses on a fun, hands on experience with horses, to give children a full understanding of horsemanship.

Kids ages 5 and up will spend a fun filled day learning all about horses on a working horse ranch. Our campers will spend each day riding with our wonderful instructors while also getting hands on instruction in grooming, bathing and tacking up. They will also learn about safety around horses, proper nutrition and maintenance, anatomy and much more. We also have a lot of fun activities in store fo

r everyone. Some days we will go on hayrides, go on hikes or dig for fossils and even play equestrian related games. We do arts and crafts and lots of other fun activities.

This week, our campers learned the ultimate horse care essentials: Feeding
Tacking up
Safety rules
Levels of care
Color and Markings

And, of course... 🐎 RIDING! 🙌

We wrapped up with an epic relay race where everyone showed off their new skills, teamwork, and confidence in the saddle! 🏁👏

Even with chilly weather, the smiles, laughter, and love for our four-legged friends kept us warm! 🥶➡️😊

🍂🐴 Fall Horse Camp Was a Blast! 🐴🍂

Our sweet campers bundled up tight these last three days, braving the chilly weather with big smiles and eager hearts! 🧣❄️ The cold couldn't stop them from diving into all things horses! 🐎✨

They learned about care, safety, tack, anatomy, and of course, got plenty of riding practice! 🐾💪 From brushing to saddling up, our campers were naturals in the making. 💕🎠

Even though fall camp has come and gone, we’re already counting down the days until we get to welcome our amazing campers back for more unforgettable memories! 🗓️💛

🌞🐴 July 17 & 18 marked our last Horse Camp of the season! 🏕️✨ What a fantastic summer it's been! Thank you to all our amazing campers for making it so memorable. It was pure joy seeing their excitement and passion for horses, leaving as true cowboys and cowgirls. 🤠💖 See you next year! 🌟

Today was bittersweet! 🌟 We had an amazing group of kids for our Last Riding Academy of the summer! 🌞 How lucky we were to have beautiful weather. 🌤️ Our campers rode Western and English, tacked and untacked, learned the barrel pattern, fed, groomed, and so much more! 🐴🏇

🐴 What an amazing two days of Riding Academy on July 10th and 11th! 🌟 Our campers got a firsthand experience in horse ownership, starting their days with early morning feedings, grooming sessions, tacking up, and even untacking and bathing their horses. 🕗🧼

They saddled up and tackled both Western and English riding styles, mastering proper rein use and guiding their horses through barrel patterns. 🐎🏇 We were blown away by the skill and dedication shown by each and every rider. 🌟

🐴 Camp is back on after a week off and we're over the moon! 🌟 New and returning campers plunged into the world of horses. 🐎 Despite a bit of rain on the first day, our campers rode through it all. 🐴 Riding Academy was a hit this week! 🌟 Our campers truly experienced what it’s like to own a horse. 🐎 They arrived at 8 AM to feed, groom, and tack up their horses. 🕗

On the first day, they rode Western style and learned the basics: stop, go, right, left, and more. 🐎➡️⬅️ Throughout the the two days, they practiced positioning their bodies for balance, steering, applying pressure at different levels, trotting, and posting. 🚶‍♀️ They also learned about tack, its care, and the necessary supplies. 🧹🐴

Second day campers learned English riding is a different discipline! They mastered carrying their weight for proper balance (since the English saddle doesn’t have a horn) and practiced two-hand reigning. 🏇 They also learned barrel patterns, changing directions, and ended the day by untacking and bathing the horses. 🛁🐎

What a great group of kids spending the day learning and riding horses! 🌟🐴

🐎🌞 The heat is rising, but so is the fun at horse camp! 🤠 What an amazing group of kids we had on June 24 & 25! 🌟 We had some naturals join us and by the end of camp, everyone was leaving as true cowboys and cowgirls. 🤠🐴

🐴🌟 Another amazing two days at horse camp! Each group of campers brings more fun and excitement than the last. It's incredible to see their enthusiasm, curiosity, and love for horses fully bloom during their time with us.

The last two days have been particularly special with a mix of brand new faces and familiar ones who just can't get enough of the camp experience! It's heartwarming to witness their growth and joy as they learn and bond with these incredible animals. Here's to many more unforgettable moments at horse camp! 🐎💖
