Just a squeeze bottle and a brush, some silky smooth thick slip, and the process got me mesmerized. I usually do a lot of subtractive decoration, carving layers of slip or cutting out holes. This action of adding and painting feels gentler in some way. Reflecting the phase of life Im finding myself in now. Trying to be gentler with myself, loved ones, friends, and strangers. I think we all need a little more gentleness amongst fellow humans right now 🤍

I have always been inspired by the outdoor spaces of Hawaii. Going back home this winter I realized what particular trail in Haleakala Crater runs on repeat in my subconscious. The switch backs down a volcanic cliff side are covered with native ferns and shrubs. The Kupukupu fern is abundant, know as a colonizing species, it is often the first plant growing in young lava flows. Ohelo shrubs are full of berries this time of year, resembling a wild blueberry. And of course a scattering of Ohia trees give perch to the native honey creepers flitting about.
Just to name a few plants, this landscape is awe inspiring, you can feel the power emanating from the earth.
It is some of that essence that I try to convey in my ceramic designs. Here is a large lidded jar, kupukupu ferns (also called sword ferns) and a shrub like branch. Among a landscape of rolling textured dark rocks.

I have a dream of creating custom tiles and tile mural pieces for clients. Why is it that the thing you really want to do is always the scariest to start? I’ve finally taken time to create several tile compilations, fleshing out some ideas and building a portfolio. For now I’m framing these tiles as wall hangings. And as nervous as I am, putting it out in the universe that I’ll make these for someone’s home soon!
Next round I’ll be buying these frames 😅 not making them by hand (only so much time for side projects)

There are several strings of inspiration manifesting through this vase ✨ Fanning Coral from the ocean dives in Maui 🪸. Fungal cap gills and cell patterns from forays in the Pacific Northwest 🍄. Lush blooming petals of chrysanthemums and marigolds 🌼.

Carving of a jar in reverse order ;) I use the wheel to get strait lines, then divide the surface evenly, finally free hand carving of a fern pattern in this case. Always using !
Before I even begin to throw a lidded form I sketch at least 20 ideas out. Playing with body shape, then lid shape, then handle shape. All the while keeping the original inspiration in mind. Sometimes it’s another potters work, the way a fern was laying against a stone, or Moroccan decor. Nature always inspires me and I want to bring those positive feelings back to a customer through my pottery 🌿
This jar is going in the glaze kiln soon! Can’t wait to see the final results 🙏🏼

Happy Spooky, Witchy, Mask wearing, Spirit summoning day! It’s snowing and raining here in Central Oregon, time to light the candles and get comfy with the shadows. I love setting the ethereal vibe with some of these candle holders 🕯️

Had a lidded jar kick the other week and this is one might be my favorite. Inspired by the Japandi aesthetic and botanicals of Hawaii.
I have a handful of new colored slips to choose from and this idea called for the warm white. 🤍

The pastel colors of a bisqued pot 🤌🏼
Finally got my pink dusty rose color dialed in! So it’s been a painting and carving frenzy over here at
Now these bisqued pots get crusty bits sanded off and a good rinse before getting glazed.
Can’t wait for these to be glaze fired soon to be released into the wild!

Summer time has been full of new studio construction projects, visiting family, and much less pottery production than in years past. I got out for a backpacking trip last weekend and it was the first actual hiking I’ve done all summer. Being a lover of the outdoors, I struggled with the pull of summertime fun against the massive career projects underway. Since April I have been helping with the opening of , and refocusing my personal pottery pursuits. I made a small temporary work space in my garage, (lol 4 months later) in order to create for current clients. The past 4 months have been testing, inspiring, and depleting. I am beyond ecstatic to be near a move in date for my personal studio. Working alone has amplified how important community is to me 🤍 I cant wait to play with mud among my art family again.

I’m really loving this collection that has been developing and getting refined over the past year. Started with inspiration and an order from .shop and has continued to be a hit. Now these can also be found at in Sister OR!
These are the big orders I love, collaborating on colors and given artistic freedom with shape and design. 🤍
Can’t wait to be set up in and filling up drying racks again! 😘

As the weather is transitioning in to winter ❄️ I’ve been reflecting on the magic of the summer. capturing the group of boss ladies forging their own path in life and living free. It’s been a season of growing connections, deepening bonds, and exploring new paths. Thank you for including me in this project. I love having connections in the creator community grow ✨
