Throwing one of the larger vases for the @makinitlocal gallery. These ones are 3 1/2 - 4 lbs of clay to start, and after all the firing and shrinkage are about 2 1/4 lbs finished. Pictured at the end is a bisque piece ready to be glazed.

Yippee! My studio is (almost) complete! Last step is to move my wheel table in and then it’s throw time baby! I’m so excited to be wrapping up this phase of the journey. So much construction focused work in the past 5 months. Not much pottery, although the garage studio did allow me to maintain one wholesale order 🙏🏼. The burn out, stress, mental exhaustion, and self doubt was so real and hit deep many times. I am so beyond grateful for an extremely supportive family @kappyframpton and partner @chaddy__b, incredible friend and coworker @slipstudio, skilled friends @wanderingtreeman, the community at @campclay_bend, and friends that love you through the life grind @frenchyandcy @ifyoulikebanannas @t_scribs just to mame a few 🤍🤍🤍

I can’t wait to settle in @campclay_bend !!! ❤️ I’ve been helping when I can and @slipstudio has been kicking bootay with longs days getting the dream studio finished. Finding peace with where I am at in life right now has been a revelatory journey. There has been lots of restructuring, rethinking, and reimagining going on the last 3 months. Many tests emotionally, mentally, and physically and many reasons for celebration. It feels like I am a young tree that got abruptly uprooted and thankfully was put in hands to gently transplant me. Carving some big serving bowls! Trimming, painting stained slip in 3 layers, carving away. The hardest part is getting a good angle to carve from, hence the bending over and arm cradle. Thabks @diamondcoretools for making the best carving tools around!

Throwing a 7-8 pound mound of clay for the main body of the shell forms 🐚. Love the feeling of pushing around a bigger ball of clay and not needing it to be exactly symmetrical 🪸. Base is open in order for me to add another smaller cone. See the rest of the process in my next video :)
