EOR strips are the patent pending oral film strip for horses. It’s unlikely you’ve seen, let alone used anything like them simply because until just over a year ago this method of supplementation did not exist on the market. Here are some highlights about EOR strips and how they serve your horse…
Faster delivery - The contents of the strip are absorbed through the mucous membranes- taking a fast track to the bloodstream.
Avoiding the GI system - thanks to that absorption through the gums you skip the gut, this means no further insult to existing ulcers and no degrading in the digestion process.
The first and original formulation “The OG” contains energy metabolites like B12, glucose, and electrolytes. This formula is for hydration, performance, and recovery.
We could never answer every question in a single post but as a small homegrown business it is our goal to educate and serve. Our team is available to consult on how to best fit EOR strips into your routine, we also have resources for you on our website including a full list of ingredients, application videos and extensive FAQ’s.
Hydration is key to a horse’s well being! Since day 1 we have been hearing from the EOR family that our energy metabolite strips increase water consumption. Thanks to a recent study we can confirm that EOR strips are proving to be an excellent tool to keep your horse hydrated.
In this field study, water consumption was 12-15% higher in the group that received EOR strips, equating to around 1 and a half more gallons of water over 24 hours.
When temperatures dropped by more than double digits the numbers were even more remarkable!
EOR strips are not just for the performance horse that is training, hauling, and competing. They will also benefit the pasture pet that drinks less with weather changes, trips to the vet, or any other stressful event.

Patent pending EOR strips are unlike anything we’ve seen in equine care. The first and only equine oral film strip that delivers energy metabolites through the mucous membranes.
What does this mean? A slowly dissolving strip is placed onto your horse’s gums or wrapped around their bit. As it dissolves, the energy metabolites have a much shorter trip to get to the bloodstream because they are absorbed through the oral mucosa instead of having to travel through the GI system.
This allows for a rapid absorption rate and avoiding breakdown of the nutrients in the gut.
Simply put, EOR strips are just Bad ASS!

Who better to answer all of your questions about patent pending EOR strips than our founder Dr. Young?!
Dr. Patrick Young is a seasoned equine sports medicine veterinarian with 26 years of experience.
As a two time Ironman triathlete finisher, he saw first-hand the advanced nutritional support available to human athletes and noticed a gap in the equine market. This sparked the long journey of research and development that eventually led him here.
EOR strips are the patent pending oral film strip for horses. Delivering metabolites through the mucous membranes and into the circulatory system. This novel and innovative method of delivery allows for rapid absorption while avoiding the gut. It can be used before, during, or after exercise. The positive effect on water consumption is not only beneficial for our equine athletes but also for any horse that needs encouragement to drink.

Keep Your Horse Hydrated while hauling.
Hauling can be a stressful time for horses, and maintaining adequate hydration is key. Dehydration is a major cause of colic and poor performance. Designed to quickly deliver energy metabolites and promote hydration, EOR strips ensure your horse stays comfortable and hydrated, even on long journeys.
We have heard from many customers that hauling with EOR has been a game changer.
For hauling long distances, we recommend the night before to encourage hydration overnight, the morning of travel and/ or once again upon arrival. Be prepared to stop and allow access to water along the way.

Ya know the old saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink", hold my reins - because the feedback says otherwise. Here are just a few mentions of how patent pending EOR strips are helping turn the most finicky of drinkers into well hydrated horses
“She’s not the best drinker and she’s a little prone to colic…Y’all, she drank 3/4 of a bucket of water immediately after getting back to the trailer today”
“I apply a strip right before we load on the trailer to encourage my horses to drink upon arrival or stop. These are the BEST thing I've found for poor drinkers.”
“We used EOR- Equine Oral Recovery Strips under her upper lip. She almost immediately drank half a bucket of water and continued to eat hay without being bothered as it dissolved.”
“On a 20-year-old barrel horse, I saw remarkable results - his water intake was impressive”
Dominique Hart
Welcoming Dominique Hart to the EOR ambassador team!
I am a WPRA Professional Barrel Racer, Trainer, Instructor and Horsemanship coach. I was practically born on the back of a horse, and grew up riding and training horses for my Grandparents (Hart Quarter Horses) highly sought after Hancock, Driftwood and Blue Valentine breeding program. I learned from a young age about proper horse care, nutrition and how important it is to always put your horse first. I have utilized that foundation throughout my entire career.
I started using EOR Strips when they first came out on my very particular and easily dehydrated horse Gatsby, and seeing such dramatic improvements in his ability to travel and maintain hydration by increasing his water consumption made me a believer! I have since used them on numerous horses for a variety of reasons and they continue to be a staple for me and my program. I have started incorporating them into my pre and post performance runs now as well and it is easy to see and feel how much they respond and how beautifully they recover after each run.
I am so excited for this years summer rodeo run with my team, now that I have these eor strips to utilize and keep Gatsby, Cowboy and Marley running hard and feeling their best!

Lasix is a diuretic commonly used in racing. It helps remove excess fluid from the body, and aids in prevention of exercise induced pulmonary hemorrhage( EIPH) bleeding from the lungs.
EOR strips, on the other hand, provide a direct delivery of electrolytes, glucose, and Vitamin B12 via a strip that dissolves on the horse's gums, absorbed through the mucous membranes and into the bloodstream. This bypasses the digestive system, allowing for rapid absorption and support of hydration, performance, and recovery.
Yes! You can use EOR strips if you run your horse on lasix. While Lasix depletes the body/bloodstream of electrolytes, the minimal amount in the EOR strip can start to replenish them without interfering with the effects of Lasix.
We recommend applying to the gums, or wrapping the mouthpiece of the bit when putting the bridle on prior to running.
