Help fill our empty shelves. The Humane Society of Central Oregon is seeking donations of dry dog and cat Food and one gallon zip lock bags to help us with our current HOPE Pet Food Bank needs. Any dry dog or cat food is accepted. Often basic, inexpensive dog & cat food (like Nutra Nuggets, sold at Costco), is best for diet transitions.
The need continues after HSCO’s HOPE Pet Food Bank’s partnered with human food banks to bring relief during the pandemic. HSCO's HOPE Pet Food Bank expanded the availability of pet food to human food banks, homeless camps, helped wildfire victims, in addition to normal distribution at our shelter.
Providing a consistent supply of pet food ensures that people are getting the nourishment they need, instead of sharing limited food with their beloved pets. “HOPE Pet Food Bank has been a huge blessing,” says St Vincent de Paul of Bend. “We know that for many of our guests, their pets are crucial for protection, companionship, and their own mental health.”
Pet Food and one gallon bag donations can be dropped off at the HSCO Shelter (61170 SE 27th St) or HSCO Thrift Store (61220 S. Highway 97 in Bend). Contributions can be made online at www.hsco.org (note HOPE Pet Food). $125 enables us to purchase a pallet of dog food.
