We have 2 of our foster pups that will be available tomorrow for adoption. They are both females and are Cocker Spaniels. Both are very sweet and around 5-6 months old. Lighter colored one is smaller.

We are starting to receive calls at the rescue due to dogs being out in the weather. As the temps are dropping please remember that some dogs are bred to be outside in cold weather. Heavy-coated northern dogs like huskies, malamutes, Great Pyrenees, Newfoundlands, and Bernese mountain dogs are bred to stay outside all winter and frequently prefer to be outside even in bitterly cold temperatures – often to their owners’ dismay. If you see a dog with a full coat outside this winter, they are probably perfectly happy. There is no need to call us unless they are visibly shivering. Please do call us for any dog that is visibly shivering, does not have proper shelter, or very small dogs out in this weather.

Help! We’re on our last box of clumping cat litter! That won’t last long with 11 cats in our care! You can order and have it shipped or drop it off at 878 Friendship Rd, Bendena (once the roads get better.) Brand doesn’t matter but just be clumping. Thank you!

Exciting news! We are partnering with Dr. Molly to do a low cost Spay/Neuter Clinic for CATS ONLY on January 23, 2025. You will pay $50 when you receive notification your application is accepted. DCPR will cover the rest of the fees for the spay/neuter, thanks to a couple of local grants. If rabies vaccine is needed you will also be responsible for the payment directly to Dr. Molly. Applications will be accepted until noon on January 10th. No late or incomplete applications will be considered. Recipients will be chosen at random. Once notified, you have 48 hours to pay your portion ($50) either by Venmo or check delivery to our office. You MUST transport your cat to and from the Doniphan County Pet Rescue office that day. This clinic is not for feral cats, may be limited to one per household, and for Doniphan County residents only.

My name is Sampson and I am a very sweet loving boy. I am hoping for a Christmas miracle of a home for Christmas. I am around 1-2 years old, I get along with all the playmates around here at the rescue. I am a good boy who just wants to go for car rides, walks, and to sleep on the couch.
