Gizmo and Gidget, a pair of charming Calico bonded sisters who are eagerly waiting to find their forever home. These delightful kitties have received the best care to ensure they are ready for their new family. They are very sweet, a little on the shy-side but will warm up with love and patience, beautiful, curious, and great with other cats. Kitty Update: Chester!

Chester was adopted 2-3 weeks ago. Here’s what his new mom says about him today:
Chester is doing SO good! He was very nervous and shy understandably since it was a new environment for him but now he's been exploring the rest of the house and his sisters are slowly but surely coming around to him 🙂 he's the SWEETEST boy ever!

Shy kitties in our rescue may need you even more than the others. They are the ones you don't see at our adoption fairs every week at Pet Food Express bc it's too loud and stressful for them. When they do attend, they are the ones who are overlooked by well meaning adopters who want to adopt a rescue cat but also want to take home an outgoing lap cat that will love them right away. But shy kitties need homes and loving too, and are purrfectly capable of giving love once they are comfortable and feel safe in their new home. They might just take a little longer to adjust to their new surroundings and new people. Reasons why cats become shy are many, here are just a few: they may have been victims of other cats' aggression when living on the streets, they may have been victims of abuse by people, they may have been abandoned, or they may not be able to handle loud noises. Whatever the reason, the next time you are considering adopting a rescue cat, please consider a . The fact that they are shy doesn't mean they are less worthy of love, but a sign that they need your love even more. Well Frida happened to be this poster’s long-term foster and it is with bittersweet joy that I get to share her adoption with you. Frida came to me a year and a half ago with her 3 brothers after being in a hoarder situation and was sick with cold symptoms. It took quite sometime for her to get well again so she wasn’t available for adoption for a while. Two of her brothers adopted after a time. Then her other brother, who she was bonded with, developed cancer and again, she spent time with him in kitty-hospice instead of trying to be adopted. Sadly after his passing she had to go at it alone, through the grieving process and then starting a new life as a single kitty. Today she did it! She finally went home with her forever dad and even though I’ll miss her dearly, I know she’s on her own journey and will make a new life with her forever person and her three older dog brothers and sisters. ❤️❤️Congratulations to Frida and her new family! 🐱❤️

Benji found his forever person after being rescued from a shelter! We take in more cats than we do dogs, and mostly small dogs at that, but we are thrilled to have helped this little cutie on his journey home. It’s a happy new beginning for Benji and his new mom!

Congratulations to Alice and her new forever mom for finding each other this past weekend! Alice was the runt of the litter but this didn’t stop her from winning big at our adoption fair on Sunday! We are so happy for them both! Alice found her forever home and this lovely woman has a snuggly furr baby to cuddle with! It’s a win win all around! Happy New Home sweet girlie!

We’d like to celebrate the adoption of Oscar today, even though his new family didn’t want to be on social media (and that’s ok!). But we are thrilled that Oscar will be sleeping soundly in his new forever home tonight and many more nights to come! Chester, a friendly shy guy, was abandoned on Mare Island, left to fend for himself. Luckily we were able to bring him into our rescue and this lovely couple who enjoy opening their home to shy kitties, are taking him home today! They have 2 other shy kitties so Chester has 2 new sisters as well as these loving forever parents to bond with. We really appreciate it when adopters are open to kitties who are more on the introverted and shy side. They may take a little longer to adjust to there new homes but they will give much love and affection just the same. Wishing them all many hours of cuddles and snuggles.

We are so happy for Arthur who’s forever parents came to our adoption fair today at Pet Food Express and discovered him! Little Arthur is going home! ❤️🏡 Such a sweet kitten! Wishing them many hours of rolly-polly fun and cuddly lap time with their new furr baby in 2025 and for many years to come! Our adoption fairs are every weekend on Saturdays 10-2p and Sundays 11-3p at Pet Food Express Southampton shopping center.

Congratulations to sweet and beautiful Goldie who is going to her forever home today! She’s all packed up and ready to go! Goldie was a mama and brought to us with 4 kittens, while she is not even a year old herself! Her new forever family live in San Francisco and happened to be in today when they dropped by our monthly adoption fair at Pet Food Express Nave Dr. They had been wanting to adopt a cat and today they found their purrfect match! 🐱 Wishing them lots and lots of cuddles and snuggles in the new year and beyond!
