Our all gathered around their lunch! They even got a treat of berries (tortoise crack!) which everyone loved! This was taken right before the new got his bath today to get the “wax” substance off. The last photo is of after his bath next to - his shell is looking much better. Tomorrow we’ll start working on getting it healthy.

The and the have their own enclosures and are loving the space.
and are going to love the enclosure we plan on building in the Spring. 🥰 Im so excited for them!

BUYER BEWARE! We got a new little redfoot in on Thursday to complete our - unfortunately we were not please with the seller AT ALL to say the least. No do I ever expect perfection? Nope. But when I purchase a tortoise with a “unique” shell (which could me battle scars to born that way to me and I’m prepared for that) it better be what I receive. This poor guy showed up with a “flaky” shell around the “unique” spots and he was covered in a wax-like substance (that made water bead up on his shell)!!

I took him to the vets office I work at, they agreed with the substance being on him, gave me some ideas on what to use to get it off and what to do to help him afterwards.
The seller only responded with (and I quote) “We did not put anything on him really not sure what your referencing.” “We kept him on coco block bedding and pretty humid in our room. He looks very pretty”

All I wanted to know was what was put on him so it would be a less stressful situation.

Our are saying ! It’s not for good - just a temporary playpen of sorts so they get yard time and we can still do things. 😂🤣😂
AND we found a name for the big guy! We’re calling him Moose! Now we just need to find a name for the redfoot girl still 🤨🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Welcome to the show big man! Here is the new guy I picked up from FedEx - a male 🥰 He’s a tank and already starting to show us his personality.

When we snagged him the reasoning was to be able to see how would develope in comparison. Her mother was a and father was a - we now have 1 of each, all the same age (4 years) and we want to track their developments.

1st two photos are of our new friend (tossing around names, stay tuned 😉), next photo is “little miss” (again tossing around names still) & him, the last photo is and him.

So excited to have our growing of 🥰🥰🥰🥰

And you’re probably thinking “Are they wanting to breed tortoises?” Well to break that one down a little, he CAN NOT be bred to “little miss” - the size difference does not work and she could be hurt. As for - no one we know or have asked is even sure if she could even be fertile. We keep hearing “she could be the tortoise version of a mule.” 🤷🏻‍♀️ Either way we love her and are super excited to have all of our 4 year olds to keep us busy for decades to come.

BIG day today! Pick up went smooth as usual 😁 The girls at FedEx thought our new friend was awesome!! 🥰I didn’t get home until later in the evening so…. New Addition Pics and introductions will be tomorrow. So happy with this one. 🥰👍👍

Root the tortoise and “Little Miss” the out for some yard time while we are thinking of ways to design their outside enclosure.
On a side note - a new friend will be arriving next week! We still need to find a name for our redfoot girl and will be needed a name for our new friend too! 🤯🥰

‘Please vote NO to the Competes Act and the amendments to the Lacey Act. It is a gross federal overreach that will adversely affect countless Americans, doing the exact opposite of it’s stated intention. The huge majority of the animals that would be included should not be considered ‘injurious’ in any book. But rather therapeutic and, in many cases, life saving.’

Field trip to the vets office for an ultrasound of Davina and an X-ray of our new redcata tortoise. One of the Techs loved it and another thought we were crazy! 😂 All in all it was awesome. Love getting to share our love for these guys with others.
