So proud of these two! Put him on the clock for the first time, and he didn’t disappoint! Boujee is 3 years old and is keeping up with 5 and 6 year old horses! He’s gonna be great and Zach is doing such a good job with him!

Watch out people! This c**t is ready to futurity! A lot of people know we start c**ts, but we also like finishing them! Jackpot Boujee was sent to us last fall as a 2yr old to start and sell, but we liked him so much we bought him. Zach has spent a lot of time getting this c**t going, and his first race is coming up in November! Every young horse is allowed to have “baby bobbles”, and this horse is no exception. He’ll have great days, and then have baby days, but I’m getting really excited to watch him compete!

I don’t ever give enough credit to my main horse training buddy Wiener Dog. She typically is begging the scene raising puppies and hunting mice, but she joined me for a nice afternoon ride Saturday.

I’m at the age where I’m old enough to recognize a stupid idea when I hear it……like…..” hey let’s go halter break and try to ride the 4H calf “…… but as you can see, I’m still young enough to do the dumb stuff 😂

If you would have told me back in the spring that one of the horses I’d enjoy starting the most this year would be a little Connemara cross pony, I’d have told you to go home you’ve had too much to drink. But here we are, and little Hazel the 2yr old future jumping pony has a career as a ranch horse if English riding doesn’t pan out!

4 years ago we laid this horse to rest. He was never my favorite horse, half the time I didn’t even like riding him! He was all go and not much whoa! In fact, he was the horse I got in my first serious horse-wreck with. But if you needed to catch something fast in a pasture, he was your mount! If you wanted to win a team roping, he was the horse you’d head on! If you had to do something that was gonna get wild and western, he was your guy! He never bucked, he never spooked, and he never quit! In the second to last pic, he was 30yrs old and still ran down a 2yr old bull for me. To this day, I haven’t found a horse that could run faster than him! They don’t have to be your favorite horse to be a good one.
