Vermont Paws & Boots was established to assist our Military Veterans & First Responders who have sustained various disabilities through their service to our country and communites. Vermont Paws & Boots partners rescue dogs with individuals in need and trains them to work as a team. Creating a bond between these two allows for both to once again thrive. y Veteran with over 30 years of Police experience including 11 years as an award winning K-9 handler/instructor. Michelle has just recently retired from the State of Vermont after serving 22 years as a State Trooper. Due to her passion for working dogs and those who serve she saw a need for a program such as this to exist in Vermont. Vermont historically has the most deployed military personnel and fallen veterans per capita. National studies have also shown that Police officers and Firefighters can be equally affected by the trauma they are exposed to on a daily basis. Michelle recognized this situation and used her training and experience as an opportunity to fulfill her passion assisting Veterans, First responders, and canines.

What a great fundraising weekend. I can’t thank everyone at Vermont Scrappers enough for another great turnout, amazing time with friends, and beautiful gifts for the silent auction! So much was accomplished and you raised more 💵 to help us pay for our new heating system. It’s hard to believe how far we have come in the past 2 1/2 years ~ for those who have been to the training facility in the last few months, wow just look at these before pictures 😳! For those who may have wondered where I’ve been on Facebook, unfortunately when I got my new phone the employee failed to transfer it correctly. I’ve lost access to everything (contacts, emails, FB) ~ It’s been a nightmare. Today I’m back into here & hopefully this will post to Facebook so I will have some way to communicate with all of you who continue to help me to keep “Rebuilding heroes one paw print at a time.” We are stronger side by side 🐾🇺🇸 !

New Boiler update: It’s strange to see this massive heating system in a pile out on the grass, but this means we are one step closer to getting heat in the facility again. To those that have already donated to help us pay for this ~ THANK YOU, I am truly grateful for your kindness & support 💙 I get asked often if I regret buying this property and my answer is always NO! Yes I’m upset things were hidden, the “full truth” was not shared etc. but together we are rebuilding a facility like no other and allowing me to continue our mission of “Rebuilding Heroes One Paw Print at a Time” 🇺🇸🐾💙.

When you wear a uniform, you’re gonna get knocked down but You must get back up and complete the mission. Since purchasing this property, I’ve been knocked down more times than I can count, but I will continue to keep getting up as long as I can. This is where you all come in. Normally, we send out a mailing at the end of the year and update everyone on our progress and those looking for their tax deductions, we hope to be condidered. However, it can’t hurt to ask early as we need a new heating system in the training facility. When we purchased this property, my team got this old gal up and running & she made it two years. The time has come to replace her and this will happen this week. As you can imagine this comes with a cost, but I believe that in the long run, it will be worth it. We will be more energy efficient and running smoothly. So if you haven’t made any plans yet for your year-end givings, please consider us as your nonprofit to help because we sure could use it so I can continue rebuilding heroes one paw print at a time in a facility like no others and one we will all be proud of in our community. Good morning- I want to take a moment to thank everyone that took time to come to our three day sale this past holiday weekend. Amazingly we only planned this Thursday night and we had such a great showing. We met many new people, reconnected with folks who have come to other events, and some folks came all 3 days and found treasures they didn’t see the first two days. You see ~ each time we sell items we literally find things we haven’t seen before and I’ve been here 2 1/2 years ~ that’s what makes this so fun.

So stay tuned for the next one. If the weather stays nice we may try to pull off another, if it gets cold quick we’ll wait for spring . In closing, THANK YOU for your continued support as we continue our mission of “Rebuilding heroes one paw print at a time”. 🐾🇺🇸🐕‍🦺. Michelle 🐾

Another great day. So many treasures from glass, furniture, & trinkets headed off to new homes! Here is a glimpse of what we have for tomorrow ~ Oct. 13th from 10-1 pm. at 89 Colgate Heighs Bennington. We need everything to go ~ even the display roofs which would make great wood sheds, chicken coop tops, etc. Come check it out and know 100% of every cent goes back into helping us help those who serve have a better life. 🐾🇺🇸🐕‍🦺.
