What a morning/day. Woke up to a 78 degree house, broken A/C, and some VERY unhappy bunnies.
One Emergency repair tech later and we have a bandaid fix on our unit until they’re here Monday morning to put a new, bigger unit in.
Everyone is being kept nice and cool with fans and fresh, cold water. Our unit is back cooling with the help of a portable A/C unit so the heat wave is very short lived for them. Everyone’s doing fine, no sweaty noses or signs of heat stress, just some very dramatic, spoiled rotten bunnies stomping their displeasure 😂 (totally not my fault😅)
Anyway, Happy fourth from a very sweaty me and Trigger this morning, who (along with just about everyone else) is now going into a god awful molt 🫠

Finally picked out names for Daisy’s babies! She’s got 3 little does and a buck 🥰
It should be genetically impossible for these babies to be black…but man that’s all I’m seeing. I know it takes awhile for Seals to show their coat variation but since they’re looking black at the moment….we have

This. This right here is why I don’t ever share pictures of my set up for my bunnies. I’ll say it here once, yes we do use cages. We also use hutches and playpens. Research has shown that cages are overall much healthier for rabbits. I could go into a deep explanation but Shiny Satins Rabbitry has a beautifully put together article on it.

Can we also stop demonizing ALL rabbitries? Yes we are all aware there are lots of bunnies out there who need rescued. There are reasons I have an adoption contract and have a clause in it that our bunnies HAVE to be returned to us should your life circumstances change and you will always have me as a support for the life of your bunny and honestly past that if you need me.
But I’m a breeder so I’m bad. That’s what the argument ALWAYS comes down to.

There is such a thing (and are very many) ethical and responsible breeders in the world. Many who loose money on this hobby not gain anything from “subjecting animals to unnecessary suffe.ring ”. Last I checked my bunnies all have a roof over their heads, A/C when it’s hot, heat when it’s cold, food, water, and treats whenever they need/want them, and unconditional love from my family and I. Admittedly I’ve been running into a few cases of dishonest people adopting from us, but I’m remedying that by even further screening practices.

This is the last time I’ll entertain comments like this. I’ll continue sharing my beautiful and spoiled rotten bunnies but will do so protecting my peace ✌️ 🫶🏻

Surprise! We have mini rex kits on the ground!❤️
These babies are an experiment to see how outcrossing my reds would go if I wanted to bring in nicer typed buns to the mix without tracking down what I’m looking for in red (they’re impossible to find yall 🥴), I really didn’t think mama took but she surprised me with these three babies yesterday morning 🥰
I believe we have 2 Opal and a Castor.
I don’t intend to hang onto any of these guys unless they really blow me away type wise but I’m excited to see how they grow and so excited for colors we’ve never had before!❤️

This black otter fuzzy Netherland Dwarf guys name was going to be Badger… but after grooming him today and seeing his little bangs I think his name either needs to be “rAwR xD” or “It’s not a phase” (any other late 90’s early 00’s emo/scene kids out there? Cause I definitely was 😂)

All jokes aside, I have major respect for you fuzzy/wooly breeders out there. He sat like a champ for grooming but I’ll stick with my Rex coats 😅
