Calling all young animal lovers- Mini Paws Club is back in 2025! 🐾
Mini Paws Club at Women’s Animal Center is a chance for kids ages 7-12 to learn about animals and how our work helps animals in our community! All sessions are from 9 AM - 12 PM, and on days when schools are typically not in session. Every session has a different theme and features different activities, so there's something for everyone!

Our small furry friends in our shelter are looking for kids in grades K-8 to read to them! We have November openings available for our Story Tails Reading Program on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Bring your favorite book to share with our cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs; or choose from our collection of animal-themed books for all reading levels! "Hi, I'm Stella and I'm a 5 year old female Pitbull mix. I'm energetic, playful and friendly, and love being around our volunteers and the shelter staff because they provide me pets and love. Sometimes when I'm really excited, I zoom through the shelter play yards and LOVE rolling around in the grass! My former owner loved me very much however he was assigned for extended active duty serving our country and sadly had no one to care for me, so now I'm waiting for a new family to give me a second chance at a loving forever home. I would do best in a home with no other pets but am open to meeting older kids. I can't wait to meet you!!"🐶
Stella has been in the care of Women's Animal Center patiently waiting for her forever home since February 2022, that's over 900 days! Two+ years of waiting can become hard for any shelter pet. But Stella is hopeful that the right family is out there for her. And we hope that is very soon.❤

Meet our Shelter Pet of the Week - Lily! 🥰🐾
Lily is a sweet seven year old terrier/boxer/pit bull mix. She absolutely loves attention from her people, belly rubs and rolling around in the grass in our shelter play yards. Despite being seven, Lily is still very active and enjoys fun and adventure. Lily is open to meeting resident pets and children. Our next session of Dog Training classes will begin the week of July 16th. Women's Animal Center offers both group and private training classes to help your dog with impulse control, leash walking, basic manners, and other important skills. Our classes are available on weekdays and Saturdays at a variety of times. Schedule you and your dog today and join our list of proud graduates. Advanced registration is required.🐾

Meet Snuffleupagas!🧡 This handsome boy is estimated to be about 3 years old. He is a shy guy, but has a curious side! Snuffleupagas may be best suited to be a working cat; meaning if you have a barn, stable, warehouse, or other business looking for someone to assist with pest problems, he is your guy! He does seem to like the company of other cats, so he could be a good addition to your current work force. Snuffleupagas isn’t asking for much - just someone who can provide a safe, warm, and dry shelter from the elements while he ‘works’. Also, there is no fee to adopt a working cat from Women’s Animal Center, so please reach out if you think Snuffleupagas could be a good fit for you!😊
