Cold Weather Tips for Your Pets 🐾❄️

As the temperature drops, it's important to take extra care of your furry friends to keep them safe and comfortable. Here are some cold weather tips to help protect your pets this winter:

Limit Outdoor Time: Cold weather can cause frostbite and hypothermia. Keep walks short and consider using doggy jackets or sweaters to provide extra warmth.

Warm Sleeping Spaces: Ensure your pet has a warm, cozy place to sleep, away from drafts. Cats, in particular, may seek out warm places like heaters, so be sure to keep them safe.

Paw Care: Snow, ice, and salt can irritate your pet's paws. Wipe them down after walks and consider using pet-safe paw wax to protect their pads.

Avoid Toxic Chemicals: Be cautious of antifreeze and de-icers. These can be toxic to pets if ingested. Clean up spills immediately and keep pets away from hazardous areas.

Did you know that reptiles shed their skin? 🤔 Check out 👀 Chunk working hard! Leopard gecko shedding is a natural process that is essential for their health and well-being . As they grow, it will periodically shed its skin in order to allow for the growth of new, healthy skin. And yes...they do eat their shed! When geckos shed, they lose lots of nutrients and minerals through the lost skin. Eating their shed skin can help them get some of these nutrients back. This will help them to generate a new, tough protective layer in the future. Another reason is that eating their shed skin is actually a survival instinct in the wild- Geckos eat their shed skin so they don't get detected by predators even though there are no predators in your home! #funfacts #reptilefacts #veterinarymedicine
