Great information

Fall can be a beautiful time of year for horseback riding; however, frost can negatively impact horse health. Frost damaged pastures can have higher concentrations of nonstructural carbohydrates, leading to an increase in the potential for founder and colic, especially in horses diagnosed with or prone to obesity, laminitis, Cushings, and Equine Metabolic Syndrome. To help prevent these health issues, wait up to a week before turning horses back onto a pasture after a killing frost. Subsequent frosts are not a concern as the pasture plants were killed during the first frost.

Why do nonstructural carbohydrates increase during the fall? During the day, plants carry out the process of photosynthesis. In this process, they make carbohydrates as an energy source for the plant. A second process, respiration, is carried out when the plants use up the carbohydrates they produce during the night for energy. Plant respiration slows down when temperatures are near freezing. As a result, the plants hold their carbohydrates overnight. Freezing can stop respiration and lock the carbohydrates in the plant for over a week. Thus, plants tend to contain more carbohydrates in colder temperatures or after a frost. Often, horses will prefer forages after a frost due to the higher carbohydrates levels.

TESTIMONY of Accuscope/Myopulse Instruments ability to heal..
**********************************************
Wow I am in such awe at the progress of this. On the 4th of July the fireworks made my weanling c**t get scared and hurt. Luckily no damage to any tendons or ligaments. But I still thought this is going to take forever to heal. Here we are 30 days later and he gets to be turned out in the pasture and no more bandage changes!!! We have been accuscoping it multiple times a week thanks to Desiree Epps and Tara Rafftery

Here is 30 day update

ATS ELECTRO-ACUSCOPE/ MYOPULSE

• FDA approved for pain relief, neuro-muscular and wound rehabilitation; also sp*eds the healing process by at least 50%.

• Animal Calibrated - The ATS Electro-Acuscope/Myopulse are the ONLY instruments on the market today with computer circuitry that is specifically programmed for animals.

• Biofeedback Modulated Micro current - Using the biofeedback capabilities, the therapist is able to read the resistance in the tissue to pin point areas of cellular dis function. The Acuscope then uses the “readings” to perform the perfect treatment constantly reading, calculating, adjusting, and treating the entire time.

• Micro current - Generates the same amount of current the cells do naturally. So the animals body can recognize and respond to micro current much faster than any other type of current or waveform.

• ATS provides the only veterinarian approved, original, and longest established hands on training program on the market.

MYTH: Mares are moody and temperamental compared to geldings, and there's little you can do about it. 🤔

FACT: Too many mare owners use the fact that their horse is a mare, as an excuse to hand-wave away their own failures as horsemen.

Much like how some stallion owners will bend over backwards to avoid taking responsibility for their horse's out-of-control behavior. They use their horse's ge****ls as a convenient scapegoat; giggling and making "chestnut mare" memes instead of sobering up and demonstrating actual leadership with their horses.

Their mare is snarling, pinning ears, bucking under saddle, or machine-gun-kicking the stall wall; screaming and spraying p*e everywhere like a skunk. And these owners will just write it off as "mare behavior". The problem is, that's not normal mare behavior. It's "poorly-trained, highly-reactive, disrespectful mare behavior" that needs to be addressed.

I've been lucky enough to ride and interact with some amazing mares over the years. And they all have two things in common:

1. They're extremely well trained. They're respectful, attentive, soft and willing.

2. You often can't tell when, or if, they're in heat. They're never moody. Never pinny-eared. Never showing signs of disrespect.

Coincidence? I think not.

A well-trained mare is not going to let natural hormone fluctuations get in the way of her job. Her respect for you, her attentiveness, and all the aspects of the partnership you've mutually built; will override the environmental factors at play.

However if you haven't invested the necessary time and effort to build that partnership, it can be tempting to write off your horse's poor behavior as an unavoidable consequence of their gender. But instead of looking into calming supplements, your first instinct should be to start getting serious about creating a true foundation of respect and control with your mare.

I promise you, the more respect and control you get, the less "mare-ish" behavior you'll see.
