Well I am LATE, but WHAT A WEEKEND!!! I feel like I’m finally slowing down long enough to make a post!

All of my girls absolutely killed it this weekend!!! I could not be more proud of every single one of them. If I ever needed confirmation that I was doing the right thing, the happy tears I shed for all of my students this weekend confirmed it. These girls have ALL worked their tails off to accomplish what they did and I can’t think of a more deserving group. Everyone is on their own timeline with their own individual goals and they have all crushed them. I am so thankful that Evee gets to grow up with these girls as role models to show what hardworking and dedication can do.

DSLB is one of the absolute toughest little britches chapters!!
To end the year Presley Helm won the saddle for the junior girls barrel racing!!! This was her first time to win a saddle and absolutely not her last. Presley and Piper have come SO FAR as a team and it really is so fun watching them run every single time!!!! Presley also placed 5th over all in the Junior girls pole bending! Presley has spent the past year seasoning Piper on poles all by herself!! This is a HUGE accomplishment!!!!

Journee Brazzel and her horse Maggie ended the year 3rd overall on Poles and 8th in barrels!!! I have loved being able to watch Journee’s confidence skyrocket throughout this past season. I love her work ethic and determination. She is so easy to coach and truly craves learning. I’ve never seen her take any frustration out on her horse and she is such a cheerleader for all of her competitors.

Joplin Brazzel ended the season 2nd overall in the barrels and poles!!!! Joplin and Zoom are a FORCE!!! Being able to be at the top in both events on the same horse is highly respected!! Joplin is so humble and laid back LITERALLY until the very moment she and her horse take off in the alley, then they will go out and dominate. I will truly never get tired of watching them compete!

Landry Westbrook got to make her first appearance back at DSLB since December on her horse Scoot. After being off with an injury that occurred RIGHT after this team started to really get together the first time. If anyone asks me about Scoot it better be with intention of hearing me brag about he is the best boy. Not even a full year of being patterned and they ran a 16.6 placing them 6th in a VERY tough round of barrels!!! I mean I don’t think I could have been more proud if they won a round at the NFR!! Such a well deserved achievement. Landry has worked so hard to get to this point and I am more than ready to see everything they are about to achieve in the barrels and poles!!!

Madison Sanchez, Madison Ford, and Sam McClure all caught their calves this weekend in the breakaway!!! My breakaway girls bring me so much joy!!! It’s absolutely my favorite lesson to give. Whether it be hearing them all give each other heck, or going over to Uncle Carls to all rope together, it really has been something I look forward to every week. 🩷

Maggie Lee ran her horse Demi Saturday in the poles, hitting a pole to run their first 20 as a team!!!!! Despite the hit pole Maggie was all smiles, just so proud of her horse for always giving it her all!! Maggie also qualified Friday for the Martha Josey Reunion! So after watching all of my girls succeed Sunday morning in Ruston, Evee and I HAULED TAIL to Marshall to see Maggie and Demi WIN the 2024 Reunion. The celebration was one that I will absolutely never forget. I am nothing but grateful to be apart of this special teams story. Janna Brown sold Demi to Maggie when Maggie needed her the most. Watching Maggie’s horsemanship and confidence blossom as she gets with a 6 year old powerhouse in the course of 1 year has absolutely been the most rewarding part. This team has circle of support from an AMAZING team of people, and I thank God frequently for allowing me to be apart of it.

Very long post, but I just had to give credit to my team of girls who have made me so very proud to be their coach. I love you all so much. 🩷
