The Fall Holly Hill Trials was a great weekend for some of our GBPC members! MJ finished first in Junior Intro CT division, Mila finished first in Junior Starter CT, Julianne finished first in Junior Beginner Novice HT, and Gretchen finished first in Adult Amateur Beginner Novice HT. Way to go!!!

Congrats to 2 of of newest Pony Clubbers, Gretchen Reeks and Christy Wood. Christy finished second in Training level Championships. Gretchen finished second in a very large Senior Beginner Novice group.

We are also proud to cheer on former pony clubbers and one of our instructors, Ashley Hays. Proud of her first place finish!

Our annual meeting will be Sunday, October 20th, 2024 at 3pm. We will be meeting at San Miguel off Benton Road in Bossier City. Join us for the meeting and then dinner following. We will be reviewing the 2024 and then making plans for 2025. Please let me know if you plan to join us.

In the wake of Hurricane Helene and recent natural disasters that have hit the southeast and other areas of the country, we are thinking of all those affected. In true Pony Club spirit, many local Pony Clubs and Centers are working hard to support relief efforts.

Pony Club also has a Disaster Relief Fund to aid Pony Club families and horses in the aftermath of an accident or natural disaster, such as fires, hurricanes, and floods. From the backwoods of the Bayou to Santiago, Chile, Sydney Elliott has certainly traveled far since her days riding with Pony Club in Benton, Louisiana. While the Pan American Games U.S. Team Member is “still Louisiana, through and through,” her recent move to Hoffman, North Carolina, has helped prepare her for her latest experiences as a rider for Team USA.

Gator Bayou Pony Club is very excited to have our former Co-DC Sydney Elliott return for a 2 day clinic held at Holly Hill Farm on September 21-22,2024.

Sydney has always been a huge supporter of our club and helping the younger generations. She recently traveled to Paris and stepped up as the alternate for 2024 Paris Olympics. She also was a silver medalist at the 2023 Pan Am Games.

We have a few clinic spots available and private lessons. Please message Megan Hatcher if you are interested in participating.
