Bean earned her Beginner Novice title this weekend. I am grateful for the instructors at Little Rock Dog Training Club that have taught me so much! They put on an excellent Obedience trial. Now on to the next title.

I know of a retired 5 year old female Golden Retriever looking for her forever home. She stayed with me for a while and I can attest that she is a precious girl. No accidents in the house, no chewing, and loves to be pet. She is a shadow dog and will follow you everywhere. She’s had all health clearances, shots UTD, and she has been spayed. If interested, please contact me. I do not have the dog, but will get you into contact with her current owner.

"English Cream" is a food, not a dog breed. All Golden Retrievers are special, regardless of the shade of gold.

I like this graphic because it shows the acceptable coat color range for Golden Retrievers. We often get asked if our lighter Goldens are “English Cream Golden Retrievers”. This can be a controversial and confusing subject in the dog world. While there are different styles of Goldens (English,Field,Show,etc), there is only one Golden Retriever breed. All styles of Goldens should be bred to meet the breed standard, which is set by the Golden Retriever Club of America in the US. Other countries, such as Canada or the UK, have their own breed standards in their clubs, but they are very similar to the US. Whichever style or country they are born doesn’t affect the fact that they are all Golden Retrievers. Different styles do not mean different breeds. The term “English Cream” has been used as a marketing term by some to differentiate an English style Golden, but it is not its own breed. The Golden Retriever breed standard calls for 3 colors, light gold, gold, or dark gold, which covers the range in this photo. Also, there is no such thing as a white Golden Retriever. It’s genetically impossible. Although, there may be very light gold dogs, if you see them in the snow, they are definitely not white. I hope this makes sense and answers any questions about this subject.
