🐈🐈 Choctaw Update 🐈🐈

We took 5 more cats from the property we posted about this past week late Friday night. With the help
of resources from Candy’s Cats, Katherine Colling Shyan Ann we believe we got all the cats there that needed to be rescued. We don’t say this lightly, but something sinister was going on at this residence and we have notified authorities.

We are slowly working through the cats now to asses health and socialization. We lost one baby last night that we had been working hard to save this last week. This is so discouraging but part of rescue and we have to move on to saving the others.

His brother Mohawk is pictured here and they were twins. He is a gorgeous long hair around 16 weeks old. Mohawk is a bit spicy but he will do great in a home once he has a little time to overcome his trauma. We will load more photos and cats over the next day or so.

💘💘 Foster or Foster to Adopt 💕💕

This is Cheyenne, she was a victim of the atrocities we saw in Choctaw Arkansas. She is much skinnier than she needs to be and cautious of people, but when she starts to get loved on she is all about it. We think these cats have been abused and traumatized.

We estimate Cheyenne is just one year old. She needs someone to be patient with her, get her to put on weight and then Mew can take care of her vet work. She has beautiful long fluffy hair. She also needs a bath that we will see to before she goes to a home.

🐈🐈 HELP NEEDED 🐈🐈

A mortgage/foreclosure associate went into an abandoned home this week, and found a number of cats in various conditions including deceased, emaciated, injured and critically starving. We brought back 7 cats and are attempting to get the other 4 or more who need to be trapped. At least 6 were already deceased.

We need donations, supplies and fosters. We are getting as many cats as possible to the vet today to asses condition. Cost to rehabilitate could be significant.

One torti mamma is pregnant, in the best condition of them all and seems happy despite what she’s been thru. She does not look emaciated and she chirps and talks to you 🤷‍♀️. She can pop any minute and is our priority for a foster home.

A shout out to Katherine Colling a local rescuer who helped us catch and load - she was literally fearless.

A kind soul found this cat Friday with an injured paw. She took it to the vet and found that it unfortunately had both FIV and FElv. We are looking for a single cat home for this kitty. We will support with any vet work he needs for his lifetime. He is sweet, young (around 2 years) and healthy right now. These virus’ are progressive so at one point his immune system will start to falter.

These virus’ are not contagious to humans or dogs. They are cat specific and contagious only to other cats, most commonly through bite wounds that are not likely to occur with neutered males.

As long as this kitty is kept indoors he can live a normal life. If he is outdoors he will be exposed to many hazards like injury and infection that his system won’t be able to overcome.

If you can help this kitty please fill out our app in the comments. Again we will support any adopter with lifetime vet care (subject to approval by both parties). We will also do some additional testing to be certain he truly has both virus’ and not antibodies or other circumstances that are making him pop positive.
