Since opening our doors in November 2023, Northwest Arkansas Animal Urgent Care has experienced tremendous growth—and we couldn’t be more grateful for the community’s trust and support. 🎄🐾 “The Christmas Tree Chronicles: A Pet’s Perspective” 🐾🎄

This year’s Christmas drama? Starring Max the Mischievous Cat and Buddy the Curious Pup.

Scene 1: The tree goes up. Sparkly ornaments, twinkling lights, and a cat sitting in the corner, plotting. Max eyes the dangling baubles like they’re his mortal enemies.

Scene 2: Buddy, ever the helpful assistant, decides to “taste test” the garland. Verdict: Not edible. But still fun to drag across the house.

Scene 3: At 3 a.m., the inevitable happens. CRASH. The tree is down. Max is halfway up the curtains, and Buddy is sitting innocently by the remains, wagging his tail like, “What? It was like this when I got here.”

End result? A lopsided tree, missing ornaments, and two very proud fur babies. But honestly, Christmas wouldn’t be the same without a little chaos. 🎁🐕🐈

🍪🐾 Happy National Cookie Day! 🐾🍪

Why should humans have all the cookie fun? Celebrate with your four-legged friends by baking these easy, pet-safe cookies they’ll love! 🐶🐱

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Pet Cookies
Ingredients:

1 cup pumpkin puree (unsweetened, NOT pie filling)
2 tbsp natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
1 egg
2 ½ cups whole wheat or oat flour (or a grain-free alternative)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2️⃣ Mix pumpkin, peanut butter, and egg until smooth.
3️⃣ Gradually add flour until the dough is firm but pliable.
4️⃣ Roll out and use fun cookie cutters (bone-shaped, anyone?) to create shapes!
5️⃣ Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
6️⃣ Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
7️⃣ Let cool completely before serving to your pup or kitty.

🎉 Bonus: These are human-safe too (though not very sweet). Make a double batch so everyone can join the celebration!

🚨 Thanksgiving is for sharing... but not all foods are safe for pets! 🐾

As you gather around the table this holiday, keep your furry friends safe by knowing what’s safe to share and what’s off-limits.

🔸 Safe to Share (in moderation):

Turkey (plain & cooked): No skin, bones, or seasoning.
Mashed Potatoes: Only plain, without butter, garlic, or seasoning.
Plain Vegetables: Green beans, carrots, or sweet potatoes (no added sugar, butter, or spices).
Cranberries: Unsweetened and plain.

🔸 Dangerous Foods to Avoid:

Cooked Bones: They can splinter and cause internal injuries.
Turkey Skin or Fatty Foods: Risk of pancreatitis.
Stuffing & Gravy: Often contain onions, garlic, or heavy fats.
Desserts: Chocolate, raisins, and xylitol (a sweetener) are toxic.
Alcohol or Raw Dough: Both can be deadly for pets.
