Attention‼️ If your pets get scared during firework season, now is the time to get a refill on anxiety medication or get in to see your veterinarian to talk about options for your pets!
As pet owners, it is our responsibility to take precautions and ensure that our furry friends are safe and secure during the holiday. July 4th is notorious for an increased number of pets going missing.
We recommend the following precautions:
•Ensure your pet is wearing a current identification tag with your name and contact information on it. If possible, make sure your pet’s microchip information is up-to-date. In case they accidentally run away or get lost during the festivities, they can easily be identified and returned to you.
•Before the fourth of July, create a comfortable and secure space in your home where your pets can relax. Place some of their favorite toys, a comfortable bed and some treats. Consider playing some soothing music or turning on the TV to create a relaxing atmosphere.
•Keep them inside and close all windows and doors before the fireworks begin. If you must bring them outside for a bathroom break, always keep them on a leash and ensure someone is supervising them.
