Our resolution is simple: find a loving home for each of our shelter animals. This is their temporary home, but they’re dreaming of their forever family. 🏡 Find your new best friend today and complete an adoption application: madisoncountyky.gov/adopt.

🐶 Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $79.50, which covers partial vaccinations, a Madison County dog license, a $75 spay/neuter voucher, and microchip implantation.

🐱 For cats/kittens, the fee is $42.40, which includes partial vaccinations, a $40 spay/neuter voucher, and microchip implantation.

🌟 A Groundbreaking Month at the Madison County Animal Shelter! 🌟

December was filled with love and progress, and we are so excited to see what 2025 has in store! This past month, 65 animals were released to rescue, receiving the care they need to find their forever homes. 🐾💖 A total of 31 animals found their families through adoption, all of which were spayed or neutered before their big day!

We also enjoyed heartwarming field trips and sleepovers, all thanks to our amazing community and partners like Skipworth Veterinary Clinic and Critters and Creatures . Your giving hearts and helping hands make all the difference for our shelter animals.

With the holidays behind us, we are filled with gratitude for all who step up to care for these animals, providing medical support, training, and transportation to rescues and fosters. It truly takes a village, and ours continues to grow stronger every day.

Together, we can maintain a shelter that reflects the values of our community—one that treats animals with the respect, dignity, and love they deserve.

🎉 A Bright Start for 38 Dogs 🐾

Today, was a very special day for the Madison County Animal Shelter. We transported 38 dogs north to rescue, where they will immediately be placed with fosters who will get to know the dogs our community and staff have advocated for and loved for months. These 38 dogs will never have to spend another night in the shelter, waiting. 🐶❤️

This transport was only possible thanks to the extraordinary support of our community partners. For Paws Unleashed and Lewis Veterinary Practice stepped up for these dogs in ways that have made all the difference. Our hearts are fuller, and the lives of 38 dogs are brighter because of them. 🌟
